The owners are extremely racist. Do not patronize this store and also stay safe. Also beware they only sell unhealthy food.

I have an African American friend who had this to say about this racist establishment: "Just had another lovely Black moment. Walked into this shop at Fruitvale BART hoping to find a snack. They had no food that wasn't a corporate poison fest so I walked out without touching anything. As I was leaving the person behind the counter called me back and demanded to know what I stole. "His partner then got in my face demanding that I leave the store that I had moments earlier been attempting to leave. When I defended myself against their racist b******* the man second from the left threatened to shoot me. Please do not patronize this racist establishment. Spread widely."

The stock is of brilliant quality, the store is all around kept up with, and the staff is affable and steady. Furthermore, the expenses are exceptionally reasonable. Along these lines, it's incredible to be here!

Quite easily the worst convenience store I have ever been to, In fact it should be listed as an inconvenient store. As I entered the entirely empty store the guy behind the counter was laughing at videos on his phone as I waited patiently still no response even though I am six feet away from him, money in hand still no response so I go across the street and return with the same response after 10 minutes go by I stand near the door and where the sensor is located creating a continuous beeping sound after a few minutes of this he simply reaches over and turns off the sensor ! Unbelievable ! How hard is it to simply make a sale when it's your only job ? Why are you behind the counter? Surely the store owner knows someone capable of making a transaction since it's the entire point of a storefront. So I went back the next day as a different person was working . I am simply trying to purchase one pack of the cheaper cigarette brands and same response - No customers and a guy watching videos on his phone but after 8.5 minutes decides to do his job but with a twist the former 9 dollar cigarettes have now gone up to 13 dollars? IN ONE DAY! Even though they are clearly marked at 9 ! Obviously the extra "tax" is going in the mans pocket possibly the motivation for actually serving a customer. In short not only will you not get service here but if you do it will be robbery . There are plenty of actual convenience stores in the area. Do not support this business! As if you could get service anyway . Photos to come and an article in the Oakland Herald. After reading the other reviews it is apparent they have been stealing from the community for many years. I believe it's time to put a stop to it .

This is a great little Palestinian place that's steps from the Fruitvale Bart Station! Upon entering you are greeted with the brightly colored mural on the walls and upbeat music. Behind the counter where you order there is a chalkboard explaining the main foundation of the dishes served, man'oushe, and different special like their "thirsty Thursday". There is also as a menu and special board with an array of flatbreads, wraps, salads and a few other items. They have a bakery and make all of their own breads used for the flatbreads/wraps which are delicious! The flatbread or "man'oushe" is super fresh, great chewy inside and crispy grilled flavor on the outside. You can get the man'oushe, or flatbread, with a variety of toppings like za'atar, yogurt, fresh vegetables and more! They are all very flavorful but not super substantial so you may need to either get lots of toppings on it which is extra money or get another item. I also love the falafel wrap or salad, the falafel is freshly fried, perfectly crispy and soft on the inside. The one downside is that the food is a little over priced for the amount of food you get (~$13 for just a wrap for example, or a small salad), but if you work at a non-profit you can get a small discount!

The best food EVER. Fresh, flavorful, made with love and intention. The drinks and desserts are amazing, too. Staff is always friendly and prompt with service. Lots of community events there, be sure to check their calendar. Support people of color-owned and run establishments!
