went to 420 Glass Shop after not-super-great experiences at other smoke shops in the broader Lake Merritt area. the person at the counter was super helpful and friendly! they helped me select the right nail/banger piece for my rig, helped with selecting wraps, and also wrapped everything in bubble wrap to prevent them from breaking! they also saw me come in in a mask and put a mask on which i really appreciated :) all in all a very positive experience, and value for money! will definitely be returning

this smoke shop came in clutch! i'm from la and needed something that reminded me of what we have back home! and it was a hit, they were kind and very reasonable when i get bac this will be my forever go to shop

I wandered into this store on a first Friday looking for a flum vape. I walked out with a Cookies backpack and a cool hoodie sweater. Since then, I have become a regular. Aside from being a smoke shop, they have all kinds of local gear and gadgets. This place is worth checking out. Support local businesses, Oakland!

Excellent store and the have a river sweeps kiosk!Update(07-09-2022): Riversweeps kiosk removed but can still interact with Riversweeps through the owner, he has a handheld to add monies and cashier's.

I went to this nail salon today & the service was very good my pedicure was done very fast and she did a very good job , she also squeezed me in even though she was already closing. This salon was very nice and I will definitely be coming back !

This place is great if you _need_ to get your nails done. What happened? I picked it because the location was between home and work and they reviews were fairly good. I made an appointment, which I'd recommend. They turned away about three walk-ins while I was there; I got the impression they had enough people in the salon to finish out the day. The place was packed, which usually bodes well. From what I could tell, everyone was getting a full set: that's probably what they specialize in. After removing my previous gel manicure, I got a French gel manicure and it lasted about a week and a half. Not bad. Great selection of colors though! My assessment? It was hot outside and warmer inside. it was fully of people yet nobody talked much. I'm not from around here but it was the first time I'd been to a nail salon and everyone was watching their own thing on their phone. I was I'll prepared to be left staring at a wall for a half hour while the nail polish dissolved from my fingertips. They came back around when it was time to paint and they were very efficient. I was grateful for this since, you know, I was hot and practically alone. Made polite conversation with manicurist to little avail. Finally started chatting with a lovely older woman who was seated next to me. Two minutes later, I was done. It wasn't the kind of place I enjoyed going to, or felt particularly cared for, but they got the job done and did it fairly well.

I really hate leaving negative reviews, but - Positive news first: the woman who did my pedi was really good. The polish on my toes looks perfect so far, and I could tell she was doing a good job while the pedi was in progress. She was gentle, detail-oriented, and thorough, and honestly, would have preferred that she did my mani as well. Bad news: The manicurist did a really poor job on my nails. However, I was working in Oakland and had a business trip to Hawaii the next day, so I went to the nearest nail shop, which was Mini Nails. Even though I'm a gel newbie - I've only ever had them done 3x in a suburb of Los Angeles before coming here - I could tell that my manicurist was doing a sloppy job. Things were uneven and she left polish on my skin, which she removed only when I pointed it out. My previous gel manicures lasted through moving and lifting heavy boxes and lots of manual labor. Only after doing a *ton* of work with my hands did they chip. The manicure done here lasted less than a week before chipping and all I did was go to a beautiful tropical island. I paid $35 for the mani and $35 for the pedi, and I see that someone got a full set of acrylics for $30, so it seems I was also overcharged. I'm upset that my nails are in such bad condition after such a short time and that I'm gonna have to go through the trouble of finding time out of my busy schedule and the extra expense to redo them. I'm likely not coming back again.

Third time coming here, the male worker is very skilled. For 30$ the full set acrylic nails were done really well, no mistakes at all, and the workers were nice there. My go to nail spot.
