I lived here in Jack London Square for over 7 years, and I remember when Oakland Supply first opened on either 3rd or 4th Street. Then, it was a small space in a former warehouse building that felt very similar to Oaklandish, which has a downtown store selling all sorts of Oakland-themed memorabilia. The difference with Oakland Supply is that the shop feels more like a lifestyle boutique with an upscale variety of clothing, gifts, and knickknacks curated from mostly independent Oakland and Bay Area artisans. Since its previous location didn't seem to get a lot of foot traffic, I was glad to see that they moved to a new, highly visible venue along the Jack London Square waterfront promenade. I'm also glad to see that they've survived the economic devastation wrought by the coronacrisis and are still alive and kicking, as of a recent visit back to JLS. Inside, you'll find an expanded selection of goods, whether casual or more upscale-looking, and plenty of Bay Area-themed gifts. I'd say the overall vibe isn't so much hipster as it is a certain "urban chic" or "trendy urban smart." The staff here are also welcoming and eager to help. Here's hoping Oakland Supply continues to thrive!

terrible customer service! you sell a oil bread saying it's can be used as after shave which is totally not true and we didn't even leave the store before we realized we were mislead and would not let us return it. this is not a nice way of doing business!

Oakland Supply Co, not a bad convenience store. Small little shop in the Jack London square area. The staff is knowledgeable and will always advise. Goods are of average quality.

I bought a $30 shirt here and I didn't realize until I left but it was really odd that the cashier asked to see my ID when I pulled out my debit card. I've never been asked that before unless it was for something I was buying that was a couple hundred dollars. It definitely put me off to the place. I didn't notice the cashier asking to see anyone else's ID when they were buying items.

Unfortunately the quality of material wears out very fast. Also, the staff here is needs a bit of kindness with customers. Just be aware they don't open on time and close before the actual posted date.

This store is GREAT, especially if you have to get a last minute gift. I'm not sure who was there to help me but she was amazing! She gave me a cute brown bag and tissue so I was actually able to wrap my gift. The clothes are super cute too. I'm pretty sure every time I make my way out to Jack London I'll be stopping by to see what's new!

I went here looking for a gift to buy. I was going to get a nice necklace for my friends birthday. All of the necklaces were marked the same price. However when he rang it up it was 20 dollars more. I'm like that is not what it's marked. The employee just said Oh well not my problem. So i asked to get one at the lower price. I just wanted him to pick out one in the case that was that price. Well they were all marked wrong and he just said Meh. Oh well. I decided to buy somewhere else for more money just because the associate was so horrible. I want to buy local but if you have horrible staff who more or less ignore you when you are there what is the point. I won't be back.

OSC reminded me of Betabrand of SF that carry similar products just lower inventory. Now, that may be changing as new location is more spacious than ever before. Most items are locally produced with a minimal turn around time for custom made design of about a week or so. Staff are knowledgeable of their goods and in some cases will let you know if it looks good on you. They're honest giving recommendations of what goes with what. I'll be back for their grand opening at the new location May 13th for sure.

A branch of Oaklandish, helpful staff, community-minded business.
