Extremely accommodating and friendly owners/personnel. Flew in from the east coast and was in dire need of someone to correct my knitting mistakes that occurred on my flight. I did not want to wait a full week to return home to visit my local so-loved shop (Black Sheep Yarn). Piedmont so graciously reversed and corrected my knitting mishaps , I made a few purchases and was on my way. I can’t thank you enough!

This store was terrific when Bente opened it many years ago. Current owner and associates are absolutely rude.

Piedmont Yarns is my go to place for yarn, notions, and knitting help. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and the yarn is well organized by weight. Their selection of yarns is great and every time I go I discover something new. There is usually parking available on Linda Ave. I've been to a couple of their free knitting social groups and everyone was friendly and kind.

This is a lovely little store that I have visited before. So when my new sweater had a tear, I decided to take it there to be repaired. The employee, Alan, was very pleasant but couldn't give me any idea of when the sweater would be repaired. "They will call you.". I figured for a minor repair maybe a week. When I called again, he said "Didn't anyone call you" and seemed very confused as to whether the sweater was in the store or with one of the repair people. I called a week later and the sweater was still at the store not fixed. I purposely called when he wasn't there. But he had told me not to bother as "You'll get the same answer". After three weeks I came and retrieved my torn sweater. What a disappointment! I think the owner needs to train staff better. I will say that when I called and got another person, she was pleasant and able to answer my questions. I would recommend you find somewhere else to get your repairs done!

I dropped in today for needles and a question about size. Jasper was very helpful in explaining yard to gram ratios. I can't believe I didn't know this sooner. Picked up yarn I don't need for a new project (hahahaha). Great stop!

I love the atmosphere at Piedmont Yarns. Helpful staff, great knitting circles. I look forward to the Wednesday knitting group with Celia. It's like a family. If you need help with a project or want to take a great class don't hesitate to come to Piedmont Yarns. Thanks for all the things you do for the community.

I've been coming to Piedmont Yarn for years, the staff are all very kind, and knowledgeable. Celia, the owner cares for her employees and treats them with respect, as all customers should as well. I love that the store still requires masks and encourages people to sanitize their hands, especially because you can't sanitize yarn and the purchase of such is a very tactile experience. I feel safe and welcomed at Piedmont Yarn and Apparel.

After signing up for a knitting class I arrived to be told it was cancelled. I had received no notification. The person working there advised that the teacher's husband had covid and it was a" very serious disease" This I know. Instead of apologizing for my not having been called , this individual INSISTED everyone on the list had been called. He then refused to give me a refund. I asked to speak to the manager and he huffily wrote down my name and number. 3 days later I was called by the owner and given a refund. I was advised "they have never had this situation before". What ? calling people to cancel a class? All could have been handled in a much more polite and business like manner.

I went to this yarn shop to purchase a knitting needle. The clerk was so dismissive and rude. He allowed me to just stand there as he was using the ball winder for another person, and could have easily done that and rung me up. He never said thank you and rushed from behind the counter to give someone, maybe a lover a very long and inappropriate hug. I have choices where to spend my money, and I will not be shopping there ever again. Shop owners should be aware of the persons who represent there business.

I really like this store. Their selection of yarn is enormous but it is extremely well curated and I have always found something great for my knit projects. I also love that the staff is so nice but not pushy. They seem like a good friend's mom or uncle, friendly and helpful. They also tend to ask what you are making and then you get to talk about your project, which I enjoy. Today, the woman who rang me up even alerted me to having grabbed the wrong weight for one color which would been annoying! They also have a bin of miscellaneous sized double point needles for replacing lost needles, which is amazing and every store should do this!

Why are the people who own and work in this store so rude? This morning, they greeted the customer in front of me by saying 'you'll have to wait' - as their opener. no smile, no hello, no how are you, thanks for coming in - nothing. I wanted to sign up for a class here - but I'll be looking for another spot. All three people who I interacted with here generally seemed exhausted and exasperated to be engaging with customers.

It was my favorite shop for buying good quality yarn. The owner handled my double charged account very poorly and unprofessionally I'm never going there again! It happens sometimes when you ring up a sale and charges twice. When I told the owner about it, I could hear her over the phone getting angry with her sales clerk and rude! she asked me about screenshot of the transaction which I did! Then, 5 days later, she sent me an email about it'll take 3 weeks for the transaction to appear on her statement and other nonsense! She finally credited my account a week later after I went to the shop in person and had her credited my account! Unbelievable!!

Lovely yarn. Great brands. Good variety and excellent quality brands. Nicely displayed. Love the comfy knitting space in the front of the store - on my most recent visit there was a group chatting and working on projects and it seemed like a group just getting to know each other - clicking needles and sharing stories. Wished I'd brought my project to join them! Was also impressed by the patient tone of a teacher providing one to one help/instructions/troubleshooting with a customer about her project But maybe someone could talk to the judgmental employee who was acting as a self-appointed street parking monitor; lecturing all the ladies in the knitting circle about the failings of parking scofflaws outside the window, then going on the chat with her boss about the many failings of one of her soon-to-be former co workers? Her comments just cast a poisonous air over what I had hoped would be a pleasant shopping experience. I left without buying anything....
