I ordered two POD containers, which were both delivered timely. I provided the SAME pickup dates for both containers 11/6/2023, as the property is a rental and they could NOT remain on the property after my move out date. Without notification one of the PODS was rescheduled for PICK up well after my move out date from my unit, which mean it would have to stay on the property and I would be charged a HUGE fine from the HOA and required to pay RENT on the property I no longer occupied. After escalating to have a POD supervisor or higher address the discrepancy they were able to schedule a pick up date for 7 days after my move out date. I submitted an inquiry to have my issue investigated and NEVER received a response until 11/28/23, stating the case has been resolved and closed. Upon calling PODS to inform them that I never received any correspondence regarding the status of my case, the representative I spoke to was very condescending, rude, and impatient. After telling her NOT to speak to me in the tone or manner she had "SHE HUNG UP." I called back and found out the representative NEVER submitted a case for my original inquiry regarding the case being closed and no resolution provided or offered. I have been a PODS customer on and off for 9 years and I must state that the customer service has DECLINED SEVERELY. I will have my belongings removed and moved into another storage container company, as this is UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR from a company that suppose to pride themselves on customer service. I DO NOT recommend using this company for the cost they should have more professional personnel assisting clients.

Inconvenient, Extremely Expensive, Delays after Delays, Poor Customer Follow-up, Rude Pick-Up Site Employees, Unhelpful Operators. Terrible Experience. Pay for convenience and all you get is the price of convenience but not the benefits.

I had the same problems as some of the other reviewers. I thought I'd check PODS out, since my move was 2 years ago.., but I see things really haven't changed ... consistently inconsistent...

If I could give them zero stars I would. They said we didn't need to be there for delivery and then left because we were not there. They damaged all of our furniture. You are unable to get any customer service. On hold for over 7 hours with no assist. We had to pay 3X for our movers because PODS was so late. The actual drivers were mostly kind.

The single worst company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I chose to both load and unload my container at the storage facilities so save money (in Seattle and Oakland respectively). You need to call their customer service line to schedule your pod to be outside and accessible. In both locations, the people on the line would say "you're good to go for ___ date and ___ time". Every single time that I went to the facility, the pod was not there. The people at the facility will tell you that the only way to get on the schedule for having your pod accessible is to call the service line. It's just one huge runaround of incompetence and bullshit.

Scheduled same day “City Service” delivery for an extra $750. It is now move in day and I’ve received zero communication from the driver or the facility. My movers are here and “on the clock.” In order to get updated ETAs, I have to wait 30+ minutes on hold with customer service who then calls the facility while I’m on hold some more. No direct way to contact the facility in Oakland. Absolute nightmare.Fully expect PODs to reimburse me for the extra time/labor I’m paying the movers as we sit around and wait for a truck that will arrive “soon.”

1hr plus customer service wait timesNo facility contact information to access unitsExtremely overpriced: Was quoted over $21,000 just for a container transport from CA to MI.Poor quality containersFacility roof collapsed due to poor construction, damaging items in containers.Update: Flew across the country to access my container at the Oakland, CA facility to access container only to find out that the container was moved to Hayward, CA. There was no communication to me of the container being moved. This added 50 additional miles to the truck I had rented, costing me $$ and extra time.been trying to cancel service for 2 days and have not been able to get in touch with any customer service reps. CAUTION: You can not cancel online!! You have to call a number that is not ever answered. I waited over an hour to speak with someone so that I could cancel and had to hang up. This is how PODs is scamming people out of their money. Do not risk it!! There are other companies out there that are cheaper and more efficient. It was a huge mistake to choose PODS in my experience.

I reserved a POD pickup over two months in advance for a cross country move. A month in advance I changed the pickup date by a week, but despite doing it both online and over the phone, the date never changed in their system. They tried to deliver on the original date despite me calling them on a weekly basis to tell them to change it but they re assured me it would be delivered on my new assigned date. I called the day before my assigned date, they said it would be delivered. I called the day of, they said to hold tight and someone would be contacting me. I call again that afternoon, and they say they dont know why it isn't there. The entire time I have been strung along by their customer care team, who has no idea how to get a hold of local teams and who apparently have no way to follow up directly because I never spoke to the same person twice, and my case numbers never reflected previous information. This is the single worst experience I have ever had with a company's customer service. At this rate I will not even be getting a pod from them, and I will have to move everything into storage for my CROSS COUNTRY move. Don't use this company, use literally any other company.

EDIT: Note how every review explaining how terrible this company is gets the same "email our social media account" response. So disingenuous! We've all spoken many times with their customer service reps who would not solve the problems they created. It's just further evidence of their lack of ethics. ORIGINAL POST: They were 2 months(!) late shipping my container from Oakland to Los Angeles (a six hour drive). After multiple representatives assured me I would not be charged additional monthly fees because of their delay, they charged me anyway, and are refusing to issue the refunds they promised. These guys are absolute scammers, do not trust them with your belongings or your business.

For me PODS was perfect. I stored most of my items in the basement of my house in SF for a year and needed delivered to Denver.Setting it up with PODS was easy and the phone service was amazing. Prices were very reasonable compared to the big moving companies ( they usually charge you more, brake things, are late, and just miserable to deal with).Downsides? Only insured up to 10k. You pack it and unpack it ( I actually hired movers on both sides to pack and unpack the large POD...it was still way chepaer).Other than that is was a really pleasant experience.

Choose MATSON NOT PODS! One of the worst moving experiences of my life!!! PODS promised to ship my container in 12-14 days from the port of Oakland to honolulu, Then there was a delay of 2 weeks then another MONTH then 2 more weeks then I find out my container was already here a 2 weeks b4 way after I had to find temporary housing for the 9th time! The "help" from the 1800 number was beyond horrendous! The Mold and water damage to my belongings was heartbreaking even though we had professional movers pad and plastic wrap everything. Still in the process of my claim and payment dispute which has also been a nightmare! Wish either sold all m belongings and bought new ones or went with MATSON, UPAK, UHAUL etc...

I had a horrible experience with this PODS facility, similar to all of the other recent negative reviews. After the roof collapsed (Dec 2022), it was impossible to get any updates from the company on whether my containers were damaged or when I could access them. It took over two months for me to gain access; PODS continued to collect rent and has now refused a full refund because it was "not their fault". If PODS couldn't get me my containers for a year, would they continue to charge me rent for the year? Indefinitely??

It’s been almost a month I am living without my stuff. My whole household stuff is in pods. I don’t know how long it will take to get our own pod. Requesting pods company to please give our stuff.

We were affected by the recent closure of the PODS warehouse in Oakland. I am a sorority house director, and I arranged storage of member's belongings over the winter break. My understanding is that the warehouse was red tagged on December 31st. We weren't informed that there would be a delivery delay until January 11th, giving my students very little time to make alternative arrangements or plan on bringing alternative items with them from home. In addition, I've found PODS to be lacking in transparency about timeline & mitigation strategies. I know that we were not the only ones affected by the warehouse closure, yet it took almost a month for your company to come up with a plan to redeliver containers. I find it curious that it took a news story highlighting this issue to come out before your company managed to find some solution for all of the people affected by this warehouse closure. It shouldn't have to be that way. I expect better emergency planning and communication from a company of this size and reputation.
