The property manager Tina is amazing! I went to public storage in search of the best option to keep my personal belongings while me and my family are moving and Tina assured me our things would be safe here and helped me pick the right unit that was also in my budget.She answered all of my questions and was overall very professional both on the phone and in person. I would definitely recommend my family and friends to come to this location and ask for Tina to get the best service

Just don’t do it. Go to a different location- NOT IN OAKLAND. I ended up renting a unit out from the one in Emeryville because of the lack of employees, and answering the phone. It seems as if someone is living out of the public storage office? There’s a dog barking but no people to help. Makes me worry about the dog… I ended up renting from the location in Emeryville. I was skeptical of this one because it’s on the blade (international) and was right to be. Plus you can just walk in at any time. The one in Emeryville stays locked.

Pro-tip: AVOID using this Public Storage at all costs. They may have "deals", they may have many convenient locations, but they are absolutely useless and unhelpful. It takes a lot for me to say that, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. But I cannot in good conscience allow anyone to be in a position to be treated poorly by this company. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I rented a 10x10 unit to temporarily store packed boxes as I prepare to move. I was supposed to be able to have access to the unit yesterday, but when I showed up at 2pm (during normal business hours), there was no one there to provide me with the lock that they REQUIRE you to use. I called the office and left a message. Wasted an hour of my time. Didn't hear back from them, so called the office again at 4pm yesterday, left another message. Nothing.At 10:22 this morning, the office called me back, I was not able to answer because I was in a meeting. The person didn't leave a message and called me back to back, again not leaving a message. I reached out to Public Storage online, and the chat agent was deeply unhelpful. They stated that they have no way of knowing if someone will be in the office, even if it's during normal business hours. What? Then add that caveat to your website, so people don't waste their dang time! Don't post business hours, and not have employees honor that! The chat agent said that they could "put in a request" for a refund, but it wasn't a guarantee, and they'd still keep my "one-time" $30 processing fee. Uh. So I'm going to pay you to treat me like crap? The agent then said that they'd send a message to the district manager. Right, I have total trust that *that* is going to do anything, given the way everything else has gone thus far. These people do not care.I guess there's nothing to do but take the $30 hit and cancel my contract and search for another storage unit that's close to the new place. Adding stress to an already stressful time. STAY AWAY FROM PUBLIC STORAGE.
