I LOVE this Salvation Army, and have been many times. I always find great items here. Unfortunately, today I saw a few humongous cockroaches inside the store. I mean two-three inchers! I understand thrift stores can only be kept so clean, but this seems like a building issue...Usually if there are multiple roaches visible, there are a lot more somewhere. Hopefully management can get this under control.

Not only did they get rid of their dressing rooms, they have reduced customer mirror down to one. So ridiculous.

Donation Center - What a disappointment. I gave a five star review a year or two ago. Yesterday I had 5 suitcases in great condition. One was new. I drove all the way to Oakland to donate them. The guy there refused them because they were "used". The inside was pristine and the outside of the new one was pristine. There was some dust on the other ones but no rips, tears, etc. All in very good condition outside I used to love to support Salvation Army because they do so much good and have a much lower overhead than Goodwill. Sadly for Salvation Army, my donations will go to Goodwill. I got another donation load from home including a huge chest full of brand new stuffed animals...and they went to Goodwill. I don't have the time or energy to drive to a donation place and have my stuff rejected.

We were in the area and decided to stop by. It's not in the best of neighborhoods so I judged and thought it would not be good. First I walked in and everything is sorted by color to be honest I loved that. It was easy to find what you wanted. The closest were name brand and a lot of cute finds. There was also a lot of stuff with new tags. The prices were super reasonable. Definitely a hidden gem.

I love this Salvation Army! right by the tube to Alameda, parking is hard sometimes but this place has amazing pieces! Great selection of coats and jeans. I got a Stanley cup dupe for $3 which was pretty cool. They have good finds in the houseware sometimes. Haven't gotten any furniture from here, it's hit or miss. Sometimes they have sale days 50% off certain items . They have a pretty efficient donation area as well in the back. Quick and easy drop off for when I wanna get rid of things. I will be back!

Prices are ok. This painting was $20... with the coupon after we donated it was $15... with thrift stores being more popular, they're all expensive now. :(... I miss when everything use to be like a dollar

5 stars to the folks who operate the donation center. The guys were nice, quick, and helped make it the easiest donation drop off experience I've ever had.

This is a busy Salvation Army store located in Oakland's Chinatown. Lots of clothes for all shapes and sizes of people. Not as much furniture as I hoped. I found a couple cool items that I probably didn't need but thought they were cheap enough to buy. The ambiance is casual. The service was okay.

5 stars for donation. Super easy with help unloading. The two men helping unload were polite and gracious. Easy experience to donate.

Purchased a musical instrument from The Salvation Army - Oakland Online Store, which I received via UPS. A plastic bottle of liquid conditioner was packaged in a ZipLoc bag along with two instruction manuals. Unfortunately, the liquid leaked inside the bag during shipping and badly damaged both paper manuals. After I submitted photos of the damaged manuals, The Salvation Army credited my account for them. I really appreciate their response on this issue!

My mother always supported the Salvation Army when she was alive and we always donated to the red buckets during the Holiday. I'm slowly going through hers and my stuff and with a break in the rain ventured to their donation center. The guys there were great and helped me unload a bunch of boxes. They were very gentle on pointing out a couple things they couldn't take. They were very happy to help. I declined the tax recipe it because I'm just happy to donate to a great cause.

They have a really dope variety of women's clothing and shoes. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the many different cool tank tops and athletic leggings which is my go to outfit almost daily at some point. It's cool that they organize the clothes entirely by color but this is also a bit frustrating when trying to find the right size. Another thing i found a bit overwhelmed by was the way the employees kinda just shut the lights off mid browse when it's closer to closing time. I mean, 15 minutes left until closing and i should be able to comfortably utilize at the very least a solid 10 before i get corralled into a mishmash of a line. But none of that is really a big deal. Just a heads up for the rest of the shoppers to be. Otherwise my experience here was positively satisfying

I love to donate to the Oakland Salvation Army. As I understand it, all the guys that work in the donation center are in the Salvation Army men's treatment program. They are consistently helpful and happy. I always leave feeling good about donating here. I live in Alameda and drive to Oakland because the people are so much nicer in the donation drop off area.

The sales staff is extremely rudeI. I t was as if they wanted me not to make a purchase, They wouldn’t tell me prices although 80% of houseware goods were not priced. They acted like they hated working!!!!
