Great Irish pub in Jack London. Their food is tasty and hearty, great drink specials, and always a lively crowd. Great spot to link with friends, have a nice meal, or even celebrate St Pattys day. Fun events hosted here in occasion too.

This place is dope! Everything on the menu is spot on. So good! Recommend seafood chowder, and Shepards pie. Great atmosphere, drinks, and prices are not bad. Continue to come back here.

Wonderful gem in Oakland's Jack London Square that pours the best pint of Guinness in the Bay Area. Great cozy atmosphere, helpful service, and delicious authentic food. In addition to Guinness and Irish Whiskey, my wife and I shared a plate of fish and chips, which made the perfect afternoon meal. Can't wait to come back again and again.

We came in as they opened so we were one of four inside. However the hostess and bartender were super friendly. I have to give shouts out to Joe!!! I enjoy whiskey but they don't have my personal favorites. He made me an old fashion with an Irish Whiskey...Im in love....the downside is will someone back in Ga be able to make me happy when I get back home. Value added- Joe LOVES his craft...it was great watching him.make drinks and hearing his answers to our questions.

A good friend of mine who loves this place and frequents often, invited me over to Slainte on Jan 27th to meet the owner to ask him the steps I need to take to book the bar for a group happy hour. I meet the owner, have food and drinks, and was very impressed about the cozy atmosphere. The person I spoke to gave me a card telling me to send an email to the address on the card and tell them what I need. So I did, telling them a little about me, my group and the dates I wanted. Waited a week and no response. I sent a follow up email a week later, and as of now late February, still no response. As I don't get to Oakland often, the same friend who introduced me to Slainte happened to be there on superbowl sunday and reminded the owner about the emails that I have sent and texted me back saying: "The event planner is reviewing your email and hopefully she will respond to you soon."As of 19th February, 8 days after Super Bowl Sunday, I still have heard absolutely nothing from the venue and have already booked another. But their lack of willingness to respond promptly (or at ALL in my case!) to inquiries is not only unprofessional but also shows they are willing to ignore the chance to make really good money as my social events normally bring in about 30 people. I'm sure since this review is less than stellar, I won't be surprised if now I finally hear back from someone after this is posted, but as I already have booked another place it's a moot issue at this point. I may visit Slainte as an individual with a few friends, but never again will consider booking them for a large group.

We've wanted to get to this place to support the new owners and finally made it in on this rainy night. What a great place! Very cool art, fireplace and nice people. We were off to a good start! They had several types of seating areas. We sat at the bar and ordered Shepherd's Pie and Fish and Chips and both were superb. We also tried their up-rev Irish Coffee called Dirty Old Town. Fabulous. Great food, great drinks and great people. They'll be seeing more of us.

As far as Irish pubs go in the US, this one feels authentic. I lived in Ireland for two years so I get nostalgia for curry chips and soda bread which this place has and does well. I had a really smooth, strong cocktail made on Valentine's Day that was only $13 bucks. Nor a bad price for a well made drink in Jack LondonThe ambiance is cozy and low key. I'll be back to try other delicious things I saw on the menu.
