Posting under my pseudo. I tried year after year to give this place a chance and I gave up. I did not realize the breach of my taxes came from this company until I read the other reviews but from the way they run their business, I can see how it happened and from their email they took no personal accountability which does not build trust and is why I'm not working with them any longer. I have tried over and over again to discuss my previous years tax return issues with them, when I call to inquire around an update no one seems to know what's going on, I ask them about paperwork THEY sent me and they need me to read them word for word what the paperwork says, which makes me wonder about their file keeping system, why after giving you my personal identification information can't you look up the paperwork you sent me and answer some simple questions giving me an update? And instead of doing that the person transfers me to Mr Lee who is apparently out of office so can't help me anyway. One time I called about paperwork they sent me, actually went into the office to discuss it, one person told me I needed to file documents when the form from the IRS clearly said THEY need to file documents, and after a steady week of asking for updates they filed the document with no additional action needing to be done by me according to the voicemail they sent a day after the documents deadline. Does that sound like professional client management when someone doesn't want to take the time to help you, pushes you off on someone else who also gives you no answers and your situation continued to be unresolved? Does that sound a knowledgeable CPA business when they don't seem to know what they're talking about to your detriment? At this point I'm going to speak directly to the IRS to get the situation resolved hopefully and I'm going to the Better Business Bureau with a complaint on this business. There is no reason that you all should be taking on so much work that you can't keep track of your clients or their tax situation. I sincerely only post this because I really want ya'll to reflect on what seems like from other reviews, a serious downward spiral in good client business management. I am not a person with a lot of money and instead of offering the help I sorely needed I am digging myself further out of a hole that this company has only exacerbated.

Do not use this accountant firm for estate taxes. Unfortunately for our family, we hired Jong Lee of Lee Accounting almost two years ago to help with final estate taxes ... and he has NOT met a SINGLE court deadline. The firm took my $7500 and was late filling last years. He had the necessary information the prior September. Even worse, after our initial meeting... it's was always almost impossible to talk to personally. The staff mastered the art of delaying with misc excuses like " travels , sick, etc." during our most CRUCIAL time points. And ... the BILLING DOES NOT match his time spent on our account. Believe me, save yourself the headache of this accounting firm. DO NOT USE!

There couldn't be a less serious accounting firm than Jong Lee's. First, there was the time my personal and financial data was exposed through a security breach (presumably not just me, but all of their clients). Their primary concern was denying responsibility rather than helping navigate the resulting ID fraud hold that was placed on our tax return. (And no, you won't get your refund while there's a fraud hold on your account.) Then there was this past year's return... They filed a return that inflated our tax bill by more than 40%. It just seemed too fantastical an amount, so I asked them to review the numbers again, and even specifically pointed them to what I thought might be wrong. They insisted everything was correct. I called another CPA to get a second opinion, and she quickly explained our return was horribly wrong. So I paid her to review my last three years in detail. I can't even say out loud the total dollar value of the mistakes Jong Lee and his staff accountant Alex cost us because it's all too embarrassing. Alex (but not Jong, who couldn't actually be bothered) eventually acknowledged the issue, and promised to fix everything and reimburse me for the second CPA review. Well, I'm still waiting, but now they just ignore my calls and emails. I'm not sure what their strategy is other than to hope I disappear, but that isn't going to happen.

Wow business must be going good around here because when I called to get a free consultation the gentleman (I'm guessing the owner) sounded like he didn't even want to be bothered. Yes, you know who you are. I just got off the phone with you and you were not friendly. It was a yes or no conversation. Not at all interested in explaining the services they offer including Payroll (he said they pick and choose who they want). Take your consultation somewhere else and give it to other businesses who provide good customer service and treat you professionally.

The Lee Accountancy Group did an extremely bad job with my tax returns. They have poor internal and external communication. I had to hound them to tell me when my taxes would be ready for my review. Once I had finally reviewed and approved my taxes, someone on their internal team made late changes to my return, and submitted the wrong return to the IRS without getting my approval.\ \ It was a headache to correct their mistake with the IRS and FTB, to submit amended returns, revise all my tax payments, and follow up with all the relevant agencies.\ \ (More details on the wrong return: someone on their team thought the could save me money by adding contributions to a retirement account I don’t have. They changed my returns to reflect this strategy, presumably to pitch me this savings idea, but no one communicated this to me. So the Lee Accountancy submitted a false return without my review instead of the return I reviewed and approved. And no one knew about it until after tax day had passed. It took them three weeks to resolve the issue and the communication for the follow up phase was just as poor as doing the taxes the first time.)\ \ Your time is valuable and your taxes are important. Don’t use The Lee Accountancy Group.

The Lee Accountancy group was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. Everyone there was friendly and pleasant. This is my third year with them and I am very happy. I will continue to use them and I highly recommend them.

I'm a 7 year client of the firm. Mine is a moderately complicated return and worthy of the near $1k fees. Money aside, (and I'm sure he saves me more than he costs me), there is genuine care, interest and concern for their clients, from JL himself on down through the organization.

Called this place for specific question. Yelp routed me on this company since its near my work place. The accountant it self Mr. lee wasn't a help and literally said call when I know what is my question and hung up the phone. Goes to show how bad this place is. Never consider places like this.

I contacted with the Lee agency in 2021 because I had filed the previous year's taxes with TurboTax, and there were some mistakes that I wanted fixed. I knew from the beginning that I wanted them to review my return and file an amendment on my behalf. In June, I had my initial contact with them and gave them my documentation.\ \ Every month or so, I was contacted by a different person at the agency, who was reviewing my file with no understanding of my situation. When they would eventually gather that I was intending to file an amendment rather than a late return, they'd put me on the back burner. I got kicked down the road around 4 times, and they finally finished my file in November.\ \ Surprise, the IRS stops accepting returns at the end of the year! And so this means they can't file my amendment until late January.\ \ I contact them twice more, to make sure that the amendment is filed. In late January, I was told that it was filed and that I should expect a confirmation.\ \ Three weeks go by and I get nothing, so I call today, and I'm told that my amendment was filed last Thursday. What happened in between? They had some kind of tax software trouble and my amendment was not accepted, and they didn't want to bother me with updates that I'm powerless to fix.\ \ That's understandable, but I got no updates at all and felt like I was misled at some point. Combine that with the lack of urgency in dealing with my account, and I'm not too happy with the Lee accountancy. I think I'll be looking elsewhere.

Scheduled a 13:00 meeting with him via teleconference. Logged into the meeting. Got an email from him at 13:04 saying we're not there, responded at 13:06 saying that we were there, and the zoom conference terminated. Simple misunderstanding, right? I called him personally immediately after, and he exhibited extremely poor professionalism to the point that I would not recommend him to anyone.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I scheduled a 13:00 meeting with him and logged into teleconference. He doesn't show, so I think he's late. Suddenly the conference is terminated. I call his office, and he starts blaming me for being late and was unwilling to get back into the conference. Phone call was at 13:10 Do NOT work with this group. It doesn't matter how good someone is if they do not treat you with professionalism

To anyone reading this, DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF USING THIS FIRM'S SERVICES. Mr. Lee and his staff are the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever come across. I was scheduled for a 30 minute virtual consultation with Mr. Lee. Besides showing up 7 minutes late, he also wouldn't let me finish my questions, kept interrupting me, and said he only had a couple of minutes to talk. He didn't want to hear anything I had to say and told me to email him my questions. Why schedule a 30 minute tax consultation if you're just going to tell the customer to email you? Mr. Lee then hung up on me as I was explaining my tax situation. Additionally, his office intentionally ignored my subsequent calls. I know there are other good reviews for this place, but those are inaccurate. The Lee Accountancy Group and Mr. Lee are an embarrassment to the tax consultancy profession. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. You will end up wasting your time and money.

A small temple can't accommodate a big buddha. Mr. Lee is a big buddha. Firms and business people need him. My income is mainly from a job. Tax documents from W-2 and 1099 are provided for me to file tax with help from Turbo Tax Software.
