Went there to check tire pressure. They took me right away and checked and filled all tires as a courtesy. Would definitely go there again should the occasion arise.

Doug is the best mechanic - super trustworthy. They will help you even though the air is free. And the older gentleman who sits outside frowning is actually very nice ?

My favorite local gas station and garage in Rockridge. Doug is a fabulous mechanic for cars of all varieties. You actually know you can trust what he says. Very fair prices as well.

I got slightly stranded in the area, and also with a nearly dead phone. The owner was an angel and offered his charging cable while I fixed my car issue across the street. He didn't even hesitate with his generosity. The world needs more people like this! Thank you thank you...

We were on our way up to Pleasant Hill when we realized that we needed an emergency stop for gas which brought us to this Valero that is nestled in a residential area. There are only 4 pumps but it was pretty quiet although there was one other person filling up here. On the day that we went the cash and credit prices were identical, not sure if this is always the case. It was also a little pricier than what I see in San Jose. You can pay directly at the pump with a variety of cards including all major brands (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover) or in the store. There seemed to be an attached garage but it looked like it was closed that day. A sign let me know that they do brake services, transmission services, and even tire sales and alignment.

They close their gas pumps well before their stated closing time of 8pm.

Had a recent issue with the cashier, but since spoke management and everything is fixed. Didn't seem right to let a negative review hang there unnecessarily...am customer for life.

I had a similar negative experience here as another yelper. Clearly, the owners of this business are not interested in actually having customers. About a month ago, I pulled up to get gas after dark. The lights were out, and it was impossible to see the pump or the numbers on the key pad. When I approached the service area, there were three young people hanging out. I asked for assistance with the lights, and they clearly appeared put out to have to attend to the needs of a customer. Then, it happened again - no lights after dark. This time, I received full on attitude from the young man who was apparently in charge. He was rude, dismissive, and made a lot of excuses without apologizing once for the lapse. I was made to feel I was being unreasonable to ask for lights. I will never return.

Maybe this is a good place to go if you know what you're doing, but the two guys at this place have been rude and unhelpful twice now, simply because I have questions. The first time I stopped, I just wanted to find out how much air to put in my tires. I can't find where it's written in my door jamb or on the tires themselves. I asked the guy who worked there, who grabbed the hose from my hands and filled my tires, but wouldn't answer me when I asked how much he was putting in. I was literally following him around the car trying to ask him. It was very strange but I wrote it off. Today I dropped by to get a second opinion on an issue--a mechanic at a different shop told my boyfriend I had a "leaky gasket" that need to be repaired. He didn't say which gasket, and he hasn't answered any of my phone calls. So I brought my car down to this place, thinking that they might be able to check it out for me. The guy in the front office said he couldn't help me until I could tell him which one was leaking. I didn't understand why he couldn't figure out which one was leaking. After a bunch of back and forth, he rudely said, "What, do you want me to check it out for you?" I said yes, and he gave me a card, but he was so rude about it that I decided to just leave. He laughed as I was pulling out. WTF??
