I didn't need photos , I only was asking questions to any staff for products. They delivered the answers and assisted to help me find what I needed.

My experience at the Walgreens in Oakland was nothing short of a nightmare. This store, conveniently located in a plaza with grocery outlets, managed to disappoint on every level possible. The most glaring issue was the consistently empty shelves. It's as if they've taken the concept of "convenience store" and flipped it on its head. No matter what day of the week you go, you're met with barren shelves and a complete lack of basic items. I don't understand how a store can be so consistently unable to stock their shelves adequately. And let's talk about the customer service, or lack thereof. The employees seemed to have mastered the art of indifference. Getting any sort of assistance was a Herculean task, and even when you managed to corner an employee, their attitude was far from helpful. It's baffling how a business can employ people who clearly have no interest in serving customers. But perhaps the most concerning aspect was the security situation. The store's location in a plaza with grocery outlets should make it a relatively safe place, but that's not the case at all. The rampant break-ins are a stark reminder that safety is not a priority here. It's astonishing that management hasn't taken steps to improve security and protect both their customers and their employees.

Very supportive staff and store is clean with all kinds of daily necessities and prime location. I went to Walgreens to buy some Ticonderoga pencils and immediately spot the pack after the security showed me the precise shelf area.

As usual we found exactly what we were looking for and a whole bunch more. They have a security guard which is much needed these days and he was actually a very nice man as we spoke with him while shopping.

I stopped by this Walgreens since I was trying to use a $10 rewards (Walgreens Cash) for purchase of any amount promotion which was expiring soon. I decided to buy some bandages and fortunately they have a decent array of items offered even though it's a relatively small store due to being located in downtown Oakland. However, when I went to check out, I noticed that only $3 of my Walgreen cash applied to the $3.30 total of the purchase and I asked the cashier about it, saying I thought I'd had over $21 in Walgreens Cash that I could use. They responded that I had already applied $3 in rewards and that "it's just $0.30," in a tone that was rather dismissive. I paid for the remaining amount, and later I double checked my emails and found in the small print that the reason $0.30 wasn't covered was because the Walgreens cash cannot be used on sales tax. But I really wish the staff had been kinder and cared to explain this to me when I was asking a genuine question out of ignorance, rather than seeming to insinuate that I was being difficult when I asked about the remaining $0.30, although I can understand and sympathize with having your patience run thin in customer service especially since this is probably a fairly high traffic location. Also, this location has a lot of products especially in the health/medication sections that are blocked by plastic and which have a message saying that in orders for Walgreens to keep its prices low, they had to increase their security measures. I do not feel it conveys a welcoming atmosphere to customers when it's very clear that the Walgreens store ownership assumes that some people coming into the store are just there to steal stuff.

The photos are never ready when they are supposed to be. One hour is almost always a lie here.

Called before heading in for the passport photo however the same person who told me to come claimed she never did although I have record of the phone call. Not helpful in the slightest. “We don’t have the camera. It’s not charged. It’s not working” all within the same period stories changing drastically.

this is a centrally located store in Downtown Oakland. It is clean and neat. it is a full service store. there is a security guard in the front entrance. (nobody is going to try to rob the store during open hours because it's open daytime in the bustling downtown location, so he is not needed there. it's not a high crime store). the check-out cashiers are rude, they don't listen, and they rush you by pressing the buttons for you on the payment keypad, as if by now everybody doesn't know how to use them where they have been merchant industry-standard for 20+ years. it is very annoying and I always have to tell them to back off, I got it. the last time I was there, the cashier pushed my headphones off the table as she was putting an item in my bag. again, they are just not awareness minded of their customers motions and abilities. and the pressing keys for you on the keypad is a big issue they need to resolve. it's disrespectful.

On an average day, this place can be a hit or miss on how busy it gets. They have a wide selection of things to buy since it is a department store for everything from toiletries to greeting cards to food to card games and more. Items are cheap and the service is great and quick to help you if you're lost. Since it's in the heart of downtown Oakland, they do have security just in case of robberies or if any homeless need to be turned away. Sadly, they don't have a parking lot sk it's better to walk, take the Bart, or use the bus lines.

Somebody pooped in the aisles this morning. And a customer who almost stepped in the p*** was complaining to security, and the security guard treated the customer as hostile. This was wrong. The security is the only free staff member of Walgreens who has the time to actually clean up the p*** that should have been the security guard's priority or report it immediately to the manager. Anyways I'm not interested in that drama so I made my way to the Pharmacy. The pharmacy has a barrier screen up that only has cutouts at 3ft from the floor or 6ft from the floor - meaning you have to yell to the pharmacy staff on your tippy-toes at 6ft or you have to yell into the counter at 3ft hurting your lower back. Obviously, this is less than desirable for all customers and they don't make it easy for pharmacy staff to communicate with us. Another thing to note is there is a language barrier, an artificial one created by only hiring asian workers, all female. The majority of the customers however are not asian so its very confusing as to why the head pharmacist is discriminating against hiring BIPOC or black. They don't do this at CVShealth I noticed that actually CVShealth has a very diverse staff and Im very proud of them for their ethical hiring practices! Walgreens needs to step it up and shape up

I have been diagnosed with ADHD since I was a child. During the pandemic when I had lost my health insurance I switched to a Telehealth company because thats all I could afford. I am transitioning to another provider in the next 30 days but in the meantime the new doctor wanted to the telehealth company to issue the last prescription so I could be covered and there would be an overlap in services. This is the VERY first time i had this prescription sent to Walgreens When I show up today to pick up my prescription, the pharmacist refused to fill it told me to "get a real doctor" and when I asked him to explain because this doesn't make sense to me. He said the laws had changed. I said the laws don't change until October. He literally waved his had in my face and dismissed me while he turned around to start counting pills. I was upset and my raised I told him he could not treat me like this and I asked for his name and license number. His response was to call security to ask me to leave. He never asked me any questions. He didn't explain He treated me as if I respect is something that I don't deserve based on what he assumed about me. There was ZERO level of empathy or care that this might actually screw up the treatment plan that TWO medical providers signed off on. He refused to give me his name and the pharmacy tech told security she wasn't allowed to share information. He treated me like a drug addict stealing drugs and not a patient with a treatment plan and customer of walgreens . If i was an addict wouldn't i have picked it up the day it was issued instead of 2 weeks later? Furthermore according to the state law in California, Pharmacists can refuse to fill prescriptions, but they have to provide some form of patient protection (such as referring them to another pharmacist on duty). That wasn't done. He turned around and went back to work. This was a HORRIBLE experience and I will follow up on the complaint that have been filed because there ZERO reason why picking up a prescription should result in humiliation and tears.
