Since changing to BMO both my husband and I’s bank cards have shut down 2x! We are now on vacation out of state and screwed because we have no access to our accounts! No one answers the phone at our branch and online treats us like a new customer. We are leaving!

I have news for all you people that work at Bank of the West. Your managers better get it together and teach the tellers and customer service people how to be 100% better at customer service. Our family has been with BOW since we moved here and the CS has become horrible. No greeting to customers, if a line forms, the managers never come to help the lonely teller at the window. They would rather exchange jokes, family photos or discuss what they did last evening. This has happened many times when we go to either branch, Brentwood or Oakley. We are so unhappy with this bank. In the Brentwood branch, the managers never leave their desks even though the line is almost out the door. We are taking our money, CD, money market accounts and checking accounts out of this bank and move to a bank where the customers are appreciated. Any bank is better than this

Been with BOTW 43 years. Moved to Patelco this week. BOTW is incapable of good customer service overall but especially at this Oakley branch. I've only had two encounters with the bank manager, Crystal and both times found her unprofessional, unhelpful and to seemingly enjoy being in the position to refuse help and then if you question why, telling the customer off. I proudly have many women friends in powerful positions who are highly effective while remaining kind, reasonable and who do not manage from emotion. Not so in this case. Both times, this bank manager refused to help without taking a moment to look into my account to see if it was even possible. Much easier for her to just turn me away, and stroke her ego at the same time. The tellers follow her lead and this branch, in my opinion, has an air of arrogance that does not serve nor value its customers in the least. They seem to think they are doing you a favor by letting you in their bank. Patelco is the opposite. They are appreciative, professional and truly happy to help in any way they can. They ARE what a bank should be. I enjoy walking in there vs dread walking into Oakley BOTW. So done with BOTW. It's a relief to know I never have to visit this branch again and be treated so poorly.

I give 1 star for location of the bank to my house. I give 1 star to the high limit on the debit cardAs far as customer service I give them a ZERO. The manager (s), Maria don't do what they say, they bring their feelings to work, and told me that she didn't care she was holding my money that was payroll for our guys. I am appalled at the way our business has been treated there.

If you look low-income, you probably shouldn't bother trying to get any help with your account here right now. It seems that the staff think we are infectious and need to be turned away with callous cruelty at the door rather than served, while more privileged people are allowed in no problem. This would be bad enough by itself, but the reason we had to come by was because some money in our account just went missing out of nowhere and we need to sort out why. We don't know for sure that it was this bank's fault, but it wouldn't be the first time they screwed us over in an inexplicable way. This is the final straw. After years of being customers with this bank at various locations, my husband and I will be switching to a new bank asap. 10/10 don't recommend, especially for people for whom such service (or lack thereof) has as dire an effect on their lives as it does on ours. edit: I forgot that our husband was given some papers he asked for, so I guess you could call that "service," but it was only through the door, with a terrible attitude, and we were straight up told not to come back when he said we might need further help. Yes, the words "don't come back" were uttered, even though we looked and acted more than reasonably put together. We were told emphatically that we could do everything over the phone and didn't need to be bothering them, however they don't know that we can do that. Both my husband and I have processing issues - I cannot make phonecalls at all and he struggles. If it had just been me, I would have been left with no way to get any help and there was no telling the lady we talked to that at all. Her mind seemed 100% closed. We were not worthy customers to her. Telling her about our disabilities would have gotten us nowhere, I am sure.

Don't do it! They false advertise their promotion. They have hidden fees that is not told to you. When you call for explanation on fee's they don't answer your questions, it's always a different answer, from every one you talk to. Take your business somewhere else.

I have had an account with this bank for more then ten years and I am always treated well at the bank of the west in Antioch. The tellers at this location aren't really friendly and make me feel unwelcomed. I don't know if it is because I am Hispanic but I am always treated like if I am going to steel from this bank. Yesterday I went in to withdrawal and the teller threw the change at me. Sad that their customer service is not focused on all their customers.

I understand that it costs money to have a branch open and to pay people to staff it, but there has to be a better way to inquire if someone has an account than they way Gina did today. It's a customer service position, Gina should be trying to find ways to help her customers, not looking for loopholes so she can do less work. If you have an oppositional and controntational attitude, people will mirror that back. Clenlieness: 5/5 Wait time: 0min Customer service: 1/5
