Having two kids in the gym, I cannot stress enough how much this place has positively impacted their lives. Not only are they learning the art of Jiu-Jitsu, but they are also developing valuable life skills such as discipline, hard work, and self-defense techniques. It's truly incredible to witness their growth and progress, both physically and mentally.

My son has been going for 2.5 years and loves it! Everyone is so close and we are definitely a juijistu family. My son loves to compete and they definitely see that and they are always there to help support and train him as needed.

Team Dumdumaya has played a vital role in building self-confidence in my two kids. Through their training, my kids learn valuable self-defense skills, which in turn boosts their confidence and equips them with the ability to protect themselves if needed. As a parent, it's comforting to know that my kids have acquired these important life skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

My two sons have attended Team Dumdumaya. My youngest started when he was 11 years old. He is now 15. This a very good safe place. All the instructors really care about all the children learning JiuJitsu and discipline. They take the time to work with every child learning needs. I am very happy with how my son had developed his skills.

Great Jiu-jitsu for people wanting to learn self defense techniques or to compete. Very welcoming team and be warned that your life will be changed for the better. They also have an awesome MMA and Muay Thai team.

I've been training with Team Dumdumaya since the summer of 2015. Before Andre welcomed me into his space, I was a wanderer who didn't really have a home gym. I trained everywhere, but called no place home. I originally started at Cesar's in Pleasant Hill, same as Andre. Andre is the first coach I've ever had who invested in me and actually cared about my Jiu Jitsu journey. He didn't see me as some d*** girl on the mat, but a valuable training partner. And he treated me that way. Being a woman coming up in this sport is different and I've most often been looked at as not a worthwhile training partner. But not with Andre. I've learned more from him than any coach I've ever trained under. He's a great coach and a good man. He has excellent leadership, coaching, and teaching sense. He breaks down the technique in a clear and straightforward way to make it simple to learn and then execute. The school is laid back and without ego but that doesn't mean we don't train hard. The team has something for most everyone. Andre's hired great coaches under him- fellow black belts James Carlson, Richie Storelee, and his son Cyrus Dumdumaya. There's adult coed Jiu Jitsu classes and women's and children's Jiu Jitsu classes, plus Muy Thai and MMA classes. My whole family trains here. I'm proud to say both my 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son started here and have grown in confidence and technique with Andre and then Gabe and now Cyrus as their coaches.My husband joined the team a year or so after we got married in 2018 and brought his son as well. The place is super family-oriented. Multiple families from grandparents on down to grandkids train there. All in all, it's a great place to train. I call it home. Come check it out, the first class is always free.

I been training here for a little over 3 years now. I've trained at many local jiujitsu gyms and this place is like no other, by focusing on building a strong foundation through the fundamentals. Jiujitsu is always expanding and building, with that being said it's easy to get lost in all the fancy moves these days but with the coaching, they always come back to the basics and fundamentals which is the most important. They have kids and adult classes so the whole family can get involved. Team Dumdumaya offers Muay Thai and Wrestling to make sure your game is well rounded. Great place to challenge yourself.

I have been training here a little over a year and love it. Both my kids also train here and both the kids and adults classes are excellent. I have had my son at 2 other places and this is by far my favorite. The coaches are knowledgeable and approachable which makes asking questions easier and enhances the learning experience. I highly recommend you give it a try. They offer trail classes as well as open mat on Saturdays.

Ive been attending this gym for about 5 years now and there is no place I’d rather go. Everyone is like family and all the instructors are talented knowledgable and humble. Fantastic place to train - super low pressure, family-friendly, and outstanding jiu jitsu. Very competition-oriented vs self-defense-oriented like some other schools in the area. I moved out of the Bay Area last year and I keep trying to find a gym out here in AZ that offers a similar experience to this gym. Unfortunately for me, I've concluded it's one of a kind so if you want my advice, stop shopping and go join today.

If you are young or older like myself and want to learn BJJ, this is the place to do it! From the owners to the students, everyone is there to help each other progress at there own pace. If you want to train with partners that compete regularly in MMA, wrestling or BJJ, or simply want to get in shape while learning self defense, Team Dumdumaya is exactly the place to be. Great team atmosphere, much like an extended family. Quiet, respectful and humble, and if anyone says anything else they simply haven’t trained there!
