Clerk was very friendly and the restrooms were clean. Yes, the gas is pricy, but it makes sense considering its the only gas station near by for miles. They deserve the extra income.

If you need a break this is a good place to stop. So many fun and interesting snacks ! We were looking around for at least 15 minutes. The bathrooms were individual so that was nice. 4 stars because the prices were a little high (including gas) but understandable for the only gas station for a bit and I just love that someone takes the time to order such unique items for the customers.

TRUCK PARKING
Friendly staff. Little mom & pop gas station. There is plenty of room for trucks to park.
No semi fuel, though. It's just a good place to get some sleep before heading into San Diego and grab some coffee and snacks.

Perfect pit stop for nearby off roading and Anza Borrego State Park visits! Right off the 8 freeway and a cross of S2, easy on and off makes it a super quick stop.
I use it to top off my tank before and after 4x4, manage tire air pressure, replenish ice if needed, grab food and extra hydration and my last “civilized” bathroom break.
The inside store is much more than your typical gas station convenience store! They have an amazing variety of snack, drink and packaged food options. I enjoyed browsing their novelty items, especially candy I haven’t seen since childhood. It was a surprise souvenir shop and there’s something for everyone! I would stop here just to browse the merch!
Bathrooms are not the Ritz Carlton, but they’re by far cleaner than most truck/gas stations. I’m guessing this can vary depending on how busy it is when you visit. I visited midweek in April and they were clean and well stocked.
There’s also a wide variety of car maintenance/repair items; basic hiking and camping gear, off road and tow equipment plus so much more. *Lots of car tools and fluids as well.
Grab some ice on your way out and you’re good to go!

A pricing nightmare.

Prices are not marked on anything. Definitely overcharged for a 12 oz coffee that has to be made out of a Keurig. Facilitys ate disgusting and entire area smells. Gas is overpriced as well. Recommend avoiding

Open 24 hours. Located conveniently off Interstate 8.
4 individual restrooms with locking doors, clean but could use some updating.
The employees are stoic.
Yes, the gasoline/ diesel is expensive here. 8 pumps are available. I don't know why it's expensive other than it's in California and it's a remote location. Anyway, if you need gas, it's here.
The store is small but it's full. Lots of cold beverages in the refrigerator. The snacks are fully stocked. There's chips, cookies, ice cream, candy, jerky nuts, etc. Everything you might need to keep you going down the road. I did notice that the items were pricey but there's a lot to choose from.
The store also has things you might need for your car. Fluids and small electronic stuff are available.
The parking lot is small but it doesn't seem like they get a lot of traffic. There's a dirt lot adjacent for larger trucks.

The older gentleman at the register is racist. Don’t even expect a hello if you aren’t white.

Customer service is friendly.
The facilities are gross.
Nothing in the store has prices marked, and it doesn't seem like pricing is consistent from one person to the next, so I suspect it's another opportunity to price gouge people.
I found the sign next to the pump to be a particularly funny attempt to deflect from being shady. It's a big sign from Chevron that California lawmakers are driving the prices of gas up as if they really *hate* charging you so much, someone else is making them do it. Oddly enough, the gas stations before and after them are $2.39 cheaper a gallon, so pretty sure it's not a state lawmaker issue in this case lol. Yes, more remote places will usually have higher prices, but this is such a ridiculous large difference, and it's not extremely far from other places. They know they're the only ones in that immediate vicinity and they can price gouge you if you're desperate or not from the state and believe their signs that it's a statewide issue so it won't be any better anywhere else and it's not their fault.
