I was almost scared off from this place by the bad reviews, but I'm very glad I stayed here. I chose this place because it was the most affordable option in Ojai that allows dogs. Only certain rooms are dog friendly, but you can get one without paying the exorbitant rates that other places charge.I agree that the rooms are a bit sterile, but they're clean and comfortable, which matters more to me. And so nice and cool on the hot days! As many others have mentioned, they have renovations going on so it's loud during the day, but perfectly quiet at night. And free parking! The location is on the main street, but about a half mile east from the central shops. It was close enough that I could easily walk into "town" for meals and shopping.Overall, everything I need in a hotel.

The care and presence of the people here is fantastic. From Carla and her male colleague at the front desk (I didn’t ask has name, but very interested in the guests experience) to the gentleman taking care of the grounds to the housekeeping staff. It is a pleasure to stay here and I will refer to friends.

Clean place, but the bathroom is a little outdated.Update: the hotel did some updates and improvements. I really like their new common room design. I enjoyed my most recent stay and will book again whenever I’m in Ojai.

I don't typically write reviews but this one deserves to be shared to save you the hassle. I had two of the worst nights of sleep I have ever had at this place. I was on the bottom floor. When anyone above you takes a shower it sounds like a tsunami is coming through the ceiling. My first night there were people partying through the night and then a young kid crying at 6am followed by a barking dog in the room above. My second night I was woken up by the guests above having a shower at midnight and then having a domestic fight that led to furniture being thrown around and a woman screaming for help. Another guest that was woken up in the room beside me called the police. No coffee in the room, not a fan. Will not be going back. You should not pay more that $100 a night for this place.

Great location. Low key, beautifully decorated and maintained (in the process of renovations), friendly staff (we love Carla), pristine pool, and comfy bed. 4 stars instead of 5 because the bathroom hasn't been renovated yet. Need more light over the sink for makeup and I wonder if the tub will be modernized. I hope to stay again!

Had a great stay at this place. I really liked the natural light and simplistic vibes in the room. That is how my home is, so it felt very homey to me. I loved the sitting garden out front, beautiful weather to just sit out and enjoy. This hotel is good location, and even walking distance from some local restaurant. The hotel was under construction while we were staying and that was back in July so I am assuming it should be completed or at least close to complete. I would have given it a 5, but I was on a ankle injury while staying there and while the room was very open, the toilet and bathtub could have been a bit more handicap accessible. Over all great staff, great stay, great area

The rooms are huge, it has all the commodities that a room should have, you even have an ice machine in the lobby. The only complaint is that the cleaning ladies made a lot of noise early in the morning around 9 am which woke me up but other than that everything else was excelent. I would stay here again next time I'm visiting Ojai.

Nicer than I was expecting for the price. Looks like some effort has gone into freshening up the appearance. The rooms had lots of natural lighting which I liked. I would stay here again. There’s a nice grass area I sat at in the morning while it was cool out.

Rooms are clean and well kept. Looked like they are in the middle of some renovations, but the location is pretty central and ideal for staying in Ojai. Pool was clean.

Amazing little hidden jewel in Ojai. I’ve been to this Inn for few times now. They are always professional, polite, kind and thoughtful. Especially when you will be checking in late, they are very clear about the instructions and reaching out to keep you informed.Rooms are very clean and comfortable beds. There’s some renovation work going on in their main office space. It’s all coming together very nice. There’s a fake grass and sitting area which is nice for morning cup of coffee with oat or regular milkWhile you are there enjoy the great Mountain View’s

Rooms are nice but old and have some odd amenities missing, like extra towels and blankets, or cups for water.

If I come back, I would not stay here. Loud guests and thin walls kept us up half the night. Rooms are BASIC and old school. Staff was friendly. Bikes were not kept up. The Ojai Inn is expensive and so I would stay in Ventura and come to Ojai for the day.

Such a lovely stay! The hotel is quiet and comfortable. Our room was incredibly clean and smelled wonderful when we arrived. Huge plus having a mini fridge and microwave too. Great location - easy walk into town and close to hikes and local orange groves. The staff was so kind and they take such care for the inn!

The Hummingbird Inn is the biggest kept secret in Ojai, CA. The room's with a small patio area perfect for travelers with a furry little friend, and the King Bedroom is perfectly filled with all the amenities you need and more. Kitchenette with fridge and microwave, nice big tv and cool AC that never goes off if you want it. The SALTWATER pool, beautifully kept grounds are just some extra perks but what stands out the most is THE MOST FRIENDLIEST STAFF you will meet in the COUNTRY. This place is magical, and you owe it to yourself and your traveling companions to stay here. Rest. Rejuvenate. and don't forget to grab a delicious cup of ORGANIC COFFEE on your way out the door. I would give more stars if I could. Special shout out to the hard-working cleaning staff. They work tirelessly to make your rooms and property look THE BEST!!! - Rich Levering
