Beautiful place!1st Saturday of every month, except January & July, there is a huge "garage sale" of sorts, with lots of odds and ends, furniture, etc. That benefits HELP of Ojai for seniors. They always have something fun to pick up for the house.

Wonderful place to hike. The river is flowing beautifully. Parking is a little tight, but there's plenty of parking on the street.Coyotes are out and active especially around sunset. Also remember to keep your furry friends leashed because of coyotes and because your dog can spook the horses and cause a rider to get bucked off. They think its a wild animal..There is a trash can at the trail head to throw your poop bags away. Thank you VERY much for cleaning up after your furry friends. ?Make it a good day.☺????♂️?♀️?

I hike in several areas owned by this organization, and am both a donor and occasional trail-work volunteer. One of the truly wonderful things about this organization is that nothing is every charged to use the trails; it relies entirely on donations and volunteer support. My personal favorite area is the Ventura River Preserve, but the area on the north edge of town is also great for easy walking.

We love our nature preserves! Have NOT been liking all the out of towners coming in and trashing it lately though! Don't come to our valley if you're going to leave your dog s*** on the tails, trash, & tagging on rocks! Stay in the city

Took a spontaneous overnight hiking trip to Ojai last week and did a sunset hike here - it was absolutely gorgeous - even with the storm clouds! We didn’t think we’d get to see much color but boy were we wrong!! It looked like a volcano was erupting off in the distance! You’re surrounded by mountains and nature and a decent river - it’s awesome! Can’t go wrong here! According to AllTrails, this trail is a big loop that requires you to cross the Ventura River a couple of times - we ended up spending a lot more time out here than planned trying to find a way to cross but were unsuccessful - it was just too deep and wide. We even backtracked to another crossing and still were unable. Maybe Bc of all the rain? But it wasn’t an issue - we still got in a good 3 miles and it was just beautiful out here! I’d definitely say it’s an easy hike - there’s only a tiny hill at the entrance - otherwise is mostly flat. The trails are well marked but it helps to have AllTrails for guidance Bc there are tons of offshoots. Also, you’re walking around in a riverbed for some of the hike and it’s very rocky and obviously wet so the trail gets a little lost in the landscaping. Saw some Mallards and some Great Egrets - just gorgeous!! Even did some rock hopping and frog chasing!! We could hear so many of tu but never found any lol! This trail made me feel like a kid again - running around by the water chasing frogs and splashing around - a fantastically fun hike!! Parking is a gravel lot - it’s not huge but there are a good amount of spots. It was pretty busy on our visit on a Sunday evening but we managed to snag one of the last spots. I didn’t see any bathrooms anywhere so come prepared.

It is always a pleasure and joy to get out in nature. The locals that frequent these trails are friendly and often give a wave or say hi as you pass. Please keep dogs on leash as there are many horseback riders and not all horses understand that dogs are not coyotes.

The Ventura river is flowing and the evening up canyon breeze is unparalleled. People we meet on the trail are so happy to be in one of the most beautiful places in Ojai.

These are well marked trails. Now that the rains have helped the vegetation grow back, the landscapes are rich with patterns of greenery. Hike with a water bottle as it is still dry. Plan on an hour or two or three or four! The trails go way back into the sierras!

Excellent conservatory. Wonderful to see the wildlife enjoying acreage meant exclusively for them. So many types of birds and ground fauna. Nice trail well maintained. Marshlands as well. Great groove of eucalyptus trees!
