First things first don’t come here expecting a 5 star hotel. This place is not for picky people. This charming place has some really cool tipi rooms but bring plenty of extra blankets if you come during winter. Erik was an absolute great host. Breakfast and dinner at the cafe was delicious. This place has 2 shared full bathrooms. It’s about 2 hours from mammoth. Pet friendly.Nearby activities: Alabama hills about 30 min away. Crab cooker hot springs about 2 hours.Food & drinks: The cafe has a nice selection of food options including beyond products for vegetarians. Good selection of canned and bottled beers. Solid food.

I was there a while ago but I wanted to leave my review here. This is the strangest hotel I have ever stayed in. He's on his way to Death Valley. The rooms are like some kind of containers in the middle of the desert, the bed was comfortable and the size of the rooms was not bad, there were several beds. I chose the deluxe or premium room... but the price seemed excessive for what it offers. The area is deserted, there is only the hotel and a post office. If you want to have dinner you have to do it there or drive 25 miles to Lone Pine (where there is a wide variety of motels and services). The hotel food is good, they have the typical US culinary variety... but it is pretty good. The feeling it left me is indescribable, since when we arrived we wanted to cancel immediately when we saw the hotel from the outside. They also have a caravan park and there were quite a few of them, and it made me feel unsafe. The bathroom is horrible, it has no light, just an old lamp. The shower is super uncomfortable. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for the price, I recommend staying in Lone Pine.

This is a really interesting place... although I'd call the experience camping, rather than hoteling. The tipi is the point. I've never camped in a tipi before and I loved the spaciousness and the old west decor of the entire place. There is a modern swamp cooler and a mini fridge, a ceiling fan and two lights, bed, rocking chair, 2 folding tables and an extra outlet so I could charge my phone. The rest is rustic. Sandy. I did need my earplugs and my sleeping bag. I highly recommend this place for the fun experience. But you'll be CAMPING.

We stayed in the Tipis, the screens were broken.. the beds weren't clean. The location is on CA-395, very accessible and noisy. Toilets dirty and not well maintained. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Stopped here on our way to Mammoth and it was nice, staff was nice and area was clean. Not a bad spot if stopping by. But not the best destination spot.

They tried, people are nice, but the place is super "rustic" (being kind) and a home for thousands of fire ants. Soooo hot. Window air in 1 room. Impossible to sleep. One night cost $160. Too much. Clean enough.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Olancha RV Park and Motel, and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable and delightful experiences I've had in a long time. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Olancha, this gem of a retreat offers a perfect blend of comfort, tranquility, and natural beauty. The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The check-in process was seamless, and they provided valuable information about the area's attractions, ensuring I made the most of my stay. The genuine hospitality made me feel right at home from the get-go.The accommodations were beyond my expectations. I opted for an RV site, and it was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The site was equipped with all the necessary hookups, making it incredibly convenient. Whether you're a seasoned RV enthusiast or a novice, Olancha RV Park has got you covered. If RV camping isn't your style, the motel rooms offer a cozy and comfortable stay, perfect for couples, families, or solo travelers. Cleanliness and attention to detail were evident throughout the room, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring the stunning surroundings. One of the highlights of my stay was the breathtaking views surrounding the park. The majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains provided an awe-inspiring backdrop, and the peaceful ambiance allowed me to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I found myself spending hours simply admiring the beauty of nature. The park's amenities were excellent, catering to all ages. The kids' playground and open spaces were perfect for families with children, and the BBQ area was a great spot to enjoy a picnic with friends. For those who enjoy stargazing, the clear night skies at Olancha RV Park offered an unforgettable celestial experience. The park's strategic location was ideal for exploring nearby attractions. From the stunning Death Valley National Park to the charming town of Lone Pine, there was no shortage of things to see and do. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or a history buff, Olancha serves as an excellent base to explore the wonders of the Eastern Sierra region.Lastly, I must commend the park's commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation. Their eco-friendly initiatives, such as recycling programs and energy conservation practices, impressed me and made my stay even more enjoyable, knowing that I was supporting an environmentally responsible establishment. In conclusion, Olancha RV Park and Motel is a hidden gem that I cannot recommend enough. Whether you're passing through on a road trip or seeking a peaceful retreat, this charming oasis offers a perfect blend of comfort, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. I am already counting down the days until I can return and create more cherished memories in this idyllic destination.

Teepee's are great. They are equipped with swamp coolers that work really well once the sun goes down. Cafe on the premises with very friendly staff.

The two stars are for the pool and the surroundings, but all in all I cannot recommend this place. It wasn't clean, and they don't answer the phone when you check-in late.

I reserved thru Expedia, the man at the desk denied we had a reservation, could not find our info, was rude and unhelpful. My bf gave his name, he said he couldn't find it, asked if it could be under someone else's name, gave him my name, still nothing...Back and forth, told me to contact Expedia, Expedia told me to contact them. When I contacted Expedia they called to ask what happened and they told Expedia my bf only gave them my name which is a lie, he knows his name, showed him email confirmation and still nothing...A woman named Elizabeth (from Olancha RV Park) said we had a reservation via email thru Expedia while we were trying to check in but the rude unhelpful man said he could not find it. No resolution. I was told I was a no show and they charged my card. If that's how they want to treat people then who ever is wondering if they should stay here be advised, they can and will send you away and charge your credit card without authorization.
