Olema Campground is a well-loved, centrally located spot near Point Reyes National Seashore, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Despite being older, the campground is continuously improving, with repairs and work in progress, especially after heavy rains that have caused flooding in the past. The staff is highly praised for their helpfulness and quick communication, particularly during wet weather, offering rainchecks and assistance to ensure a pleasant stay. Facilities include clean bathrooms and showers, a simple supply store, and a nice laundry area. The campground is surrounded by greenery and some trees, providing a pleasant atmosphere. It is right next to the Bear Valley Visitor Center, making it convenient for visitors. While prices can be on the higher side, and it can get noisy when full, many guests return year after year, citing its friendly vibe and great location. In rainy seasons, the campground’s efforts to pump out water and lay down gravel help maintain accessibility and comfort. Overall, Olema Campground offers a peaceful, convenient, and enjoyable camping experience close to the natural beauty and outdoor activities of West Marin.
