Smaller nice shelter with newer management in the facility. The staff seem to really take the time to help you find the best fit. I say give them a shot.

I love supporting this county shelter! I recently adopted three mini piggies from them after I saw their post of 80+ pigs! We have a large farm and had to go rescue at least a few! Stephanie one of the officers was overjoyed that I was there to adopt some of these piggies! She really cared and loved them which warmed my heart! If you see this Stephanie, Eeyore is loving her life! She is the sweetest thing alive! I'll always be back if you have any more farm animals that need a forever farm!

The office staff are rude and the shelter is dirty and they lied about the health of a dog I adopted. They said he was healthy and I took him to be neutered and found he had several rotten teeth and swollen glads due an infection.Ehen I called them they said I signed papers that he is my responsibility and hung up on me...I'm left w a sick dog that needs another 3k in dental work

i must disagree with the people who give the animal care center shelter a 1 star because of a rude e mployee who is most likely gone now you dont give the whole shelter a bad review because of one negative person. that rude employee definatly you want to call her out in a review individually but do this as you judge the whole shelter on its positive loving abity to care for and care about animals in their care. i know all the current staff and director well and they are good souls. the animals are well cared for its clean well maintained become a foster parent to an animal or animals while a forever home is found for them no out of pocket cost and veterans a new california state law allows you to adopt an animal and adoption fees are waived. $0. nada just show your va card or state id dl to show vet status

Honestly to see that an agency is so desperate to charge people money when their animal has been found. Has been found. You did not pick up the animal you did no work to get the animal the animal was dropped off and you're still charging the owner money. That is preposterous you guys should be ashamed of yourself. Are you gonna use that money for the homeless population?

They took my 9 year old female that i have had since the day she was born. For bogus reasons at that. I know she is devastated. I am so sad i can't stop crying.

I’m not sure who the lady was who I talked to was, but she was so caring and responsive even if I probably called the wrong people. I saw a dead dog on the way to work, in a very obvious spot where children could see and he was a BIG dog. She ensured me someone had called in the day prior and they would send someone out to remove him. Thank you whoever you are ❤️ I hope the family who owned him finds peace.

Yuba County's dog catchers are really on the ball, I see them rolling all the time, and the 2 times we have had a dog go missing they have picked them up quickly, and yes, they taxed us, the dog jail always does no matter where you are, but not they did not totally gouge us like they do in big cities like Seattle, where a license is $100 for a breedable dog, for example.

The officer I dealt with while licensing my dog was unprofessional and rude. I've worked at 2 county animal control agencies and this is unacceptable behavior. The sheriff should know the employees representing them are despicable and need more training.
