“After 70 years of skiing and 30 years of tuning my own skis I let the Backcountry have a go on my bases and edges. They delivered the best ski tune and base prep of my life. It was like my skis were suddenly equipped with rockets and vented disc brakes, and locked onto roller coaster rails.”
“All my riding friends and I always bring our bikes to Paco's for maintenance and repair work. You can absolutely trust what they do, they deliver when promised, and their prices are fair. Great to do business with.”
“Greg is the man! If you’re anywhere near Truckee and need anything bike-related, do yourself a favor and swing by this shop. I originally stopped in just to check the place out, and the next thing I knew I’d spent almost an hour chatting with Greg about all the best local rides, hidden gems, and fun routes I had never even heard of.
I ended up bringing my bike back for a tune-up, and these guys knocked it out the same day. When I picked it up, it rode better than it ever has—smooth, snappy, and totally dialed in. Prices were super fair, the service was fast, and everyone there was genuinely friendly and easy to trust.
What I really loved, though, was how passionate they are about the local riding scene. They didn’t just fix my bike—they sent me off with a handful of great recommendations for new trails and spots to explore. Do yourself a favor - bring your bike to this shop and talk to the man himself”
“Grabbed a bike for 2hrs to ride the path along the Truckee River. Super easy and reasonably priced based on other shops around too. Good location near the river and lake pathways.”
“Never mind what I said earlier: I want to support this small business as I enjoyed my experience biking. I was misjudged in my opinion and I change my review after reading other reviews. Anyways, I am curious if you could tell me specifically what bike I used though, I will describe it. It was a GIANT brand mtb hardtail style bike I think, it had thick wheels: “maxxis” I believe and it was for someone around 5’ 3’ now (this was a year ago).”
