A true American Treasure. The rooms are very nice, super cozy. With several superb dining options with amazing views and options. If you just want to relax with a coffee and pastry, there are a couple of great spots as well. This is such a great summer stop. Hiking is a must do, and of course, the Tram ride is mandatory! Remember to treat this place with respect and leave NO trash behind!! Dog friendly, too

Took the tran up during Summer. Took the giant tram up the mountain to the Gold coast cabin. The 110 person tram is huge and there are beautiful views. Once at top they have free roller skating and a restaurant and drinks. Beautiful meadows abound with tons of wild flowers. There are several hiking trails you can take from there. It is $44 per adult to go up. Season ski pass holders and Icon passholders (for next season) are free. Really worth the trip.

Absolutely my favorite ski resort in CA. This is our second year here in the summertime and both years, the weather was perfect. You could not have a more beautiful setting in this gorgeous valley, everything is green and beautiful. The village is like a little French Village in the Alps that has different restaurants and a Starbucks of course. Cost wise we stayed at an Airbnb condo on the premises, we've never stayed in a room at the actually resort. When i was a kid i used to snowboard here when it was called Squaw Valley (the name got cancelled during the dark days of America when the insane took over).Take the gondola to the top anytime of the year, the kids get to join you for free. We had a snowball fight at the top in the middle of July. It was my sons favorite thing we did that week. We cannot wait to come back next year!

The annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Fest was held at the Palisades for the first time this past weekend and my rating is compared to where it used to be in South Lake. I loved the venue change as it was much more spacious. And yes, the downfall is the one-lane road in and out of the Palisades is an annoyance but what do you expect when 7k people shuffle in for awesome live music. Thank you to all the staff, employees, businesses, and sponsors etc to help make this festival happen! Sharing a pic and video of the hometown locals, Pipe Down, representing Tahoe!! Then a short clip of when I entered the festival.

Just beautiful! I went here for the Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival and I was shocked. I'm not a skier or a snowboarder so I'm not familiar with the resorts around Tahoe even though I'm from South Lake Tahoe. I had no idea this gorgeous area was nearby. I saw beautiful bike paths, stunning mountain views, cute shops, and a nice river spot. I'm definitely driving back up here for some cycling and running to get away from Reno.

Definitely a great place to go if you love the outdoors. Away from hustle of Tahoe City and the lake. It's a nice relaxing area and there is the history of it as well as the 1960 winter Olympics were held there

It's definitely a nice place to ski. They held the Olympics here in 1960; that's cool. But the day I went, they didn't open the magic carpet, which was kind of sad for beginners like me.

Altera /IKON sold us passes for the next season, and today they announced that parking will need $$ and a reservation. Dear Palisades Ski Resort!I am writing this letter with a mix of disappointment and frustration upon learning about your decision to introduce paid parking reservations for the upcoming season. While claiming to tackle the notorious traffic congestion, it is evident that this move is nothing more than a shameless attempt to rip off hardworking families like mine.Let's cut through the snow and get to the truth. Paid parking reservations will not magically dissolve the traffic chaos that plagues your resort. Instead, it creates a new level of inequality where those with deeper pockets can secure a convenient spot, while the rest of us are left scrambling for parking spaces in a labyrinth of frustration. It's a blizzard of unfairness, and it's families like ours who bear the brunt of it.As if the rising cost of lift tickets and gear rentals wasn't enough, now we have to shell out even more just to guarantee a parking spot? Do you think we're made of money, Palisades Ski Resort? It's disheartening to witness a once family-friendly destination transforming into a money-grabbing machine that preys on our love for the slopes. What happened to the days when skiing was an accessible activity for all? Your decision to prioritize profit over the well-being and enjoyment of families is a bitter pill to swallow. Skiing used to be a way for us to bond, create memories, and escape the stresses of everyday life. Now, it's becoming an exclusive luxury that only the wealthy can afford.I implore you to reconsider this ill-conceived plan and prioritize the needs of your loyal patrons. Seek alternative solutions that address traffic congestion without burdening families with additional expenses. Preserve the essence of Palisades Ski Resort as a place where everyone can come together, regardless of their financial means, to enjoy the exhilaration of the slopes.Remember, it is the families who have supported your resort throughout the years. We are the backbone of your success, and it's high time our voices are heard. Don't let greed and short-term gains cloud your judgment. Let's restore the true spirit of skiing and ensure that Palisades Ski Resort remains a place where families can create lasting memories without feeling like they've been caught in an avalanche of financial strain.Sincerely,An Angry Skier Fighting for Fairness and Family Fun

Palisades is undoubtedly a beautiful area. Today was the first time in aegis I've been here when there was a huge crowd. Plenty of vendors and information booths. I simply deplore the name Palisades. Why can't we call it Olympic Valley? Palisades sounds like corporate, timeshare organization. Palisades says nothing about the Olympic history. Although I've been here at least two dozen times, today is the first time I've ever ridden the enormous gondola to the top. It's a very nice ride and the view at the top is beautiful. But the concession services at the top are barely two star. I paid almost $6 for a diet Coke.

Beautiful and vast.Easy access to several different peaks including Alpine Meadow via the base to base gondola.View from up top are unforgettable.Icon pass options make it easy and somewhat affordable if you’re going for more than a day or two. There was a ton of snow when we were there and the ops team did an amazing job getting the lifts/slopes open and running.

Not my favorite resort but you can't complain when you have comp tickets. I prefer the smaller resorts like Sierra at Tahoe but we still have fun here. Nice long runs and beautiful views.

World class resort. Everything you can want from an all inclusive ski resort. The crowds can be tough on holiday weekends, so make sure to prepare accordingly if you plan on visiting on peak days. As is expected from one of the most well known resorts on earth, Palisades is riddled with some absolutely incredible terrain. Not only that, but there is plenty for winter enthusiasts of all abilities to enjoy. From top to bottom groomers to death defying cliffs and chutes. Lastly, Palisades is currently the only Lake Tahoe resort on the Ikon Pass. There are always a million things you can say to praise and criticize major resorts. What matters most is that you come away with a positive experience and enjoy your time on the mountain. 5 star mountain. Easily.
