Had a wonderful experience with David at Surefoot today! I am fairly new to skiing and have been using hand-me-down ski boots for the past few years. After a few days on the mountain, my feet really started to hurt. I wandered into the store to check out some new boots. The staff was amazing. They gave me advice on how to make my current boots work but also fit me for a new pair. I ended up purchasing new boots. I never knew how comfortable ski boots could be. I can't wait to get out on the mountain!

I had the best experience at Surefoot today! A couple years ago I was recovering from a terrible leg/ankle injury (a tib/fib) and needed new boots since they had to cut off my old boots when I was injured. My first set of replacements just didn't work, but when I came in today they fit me right away in "Easy Entry" boots. I immediately could feel the difference and they truly were much easy to put on! I really want to commend the staff who helped me, and stood by Surefoot's products.

Great, friendly service. My boots fit like a glove. I have been skiing for years, and my instructor told me I have improved the most since I got my Surefoot boots. It was totally worth the investment.

Timmy at surefoot is awesome. His knowledge of bootfitting paired with their 3D foot scan technology is unbeatable. Over the years of seeing him and his knowledgeable staff for shell punches, custom liners and footbeds, I have not once needed to go back in a second time for adjustments. It gets done right the first time. I love saving time and money. Knowing I can count on surefoot year in and year out for a superior product, earns them my business indefinitely. Thanks Guys!

I am so excited to get my new ski boots from surefoot palisades. These are the most comfortable ski boots! Tim was super helpful and so nice and professional. The process was easy and Tim explained everything thoroughly. So nice to have a surefoot store right in the village. Couldn’t be happier!

It was a long week at palisades where we spent days strapping ourselves to wooden sticks and hurling ourselves as fast as we can down the mountain. After a few days I noticed my feet were very large and they felt uncomfortable in my boots. I was born this way but nothing science can't fix. I took my boots to the shop and I took my boots and socks off and stepped on a scale that confirmed my feet were big. They looked at my supergreen insoles and told me they were not science enough for my feet. They recommended another pair that fit my feet better and I've felt amazing since! There's no returns on the science insoles but so far I've had no issues. My feet don't cramp when I ski and I lost 10 pounds and I use sunscreen and everything is great.

Sat outside for 30+ minutes waiting to get my broken boot fixed (broke after a few months), because no one showed up to open the store/work. Absolutely worthless

$1500 to get custom fit boots would be ok if they fit perfectly but they don't. The foam filling only works in the front of the foot. My heel was popping up in the new boot. When I went back after skiing a few hours, the rep blamed me by saying he had to use all of the foam filling in the tongue of the boot. He then put a stick-on pad in the shell of my boot and said I was good to go. Yes it worked but it will come off when I take my liners out to dry. So not happy about this. He said he also had to put the heel pad in his boots too. Also, the boots aren't warm so will need to buy their $400 boot heaters.

Came in with some intense shin pain. I wasn’t ready to drop money on a whole new boot, but the dudes at sure foot were patient and took their time trying a bunch of different inserts and footbeds to help ease the pain. I was able to walk out and ski the rest of the day feeling pretty good. Thankful I didn’t have to call it on a nice powder day

After deciding to upgrade ski boots, I spent a lot of time doing research on options including this and other boot fitters in the area. Tahoe is fortunate to have lots of talent in this regards. Finally decided to try Surefoot given their location on the mountain, in other resorts, and their guarantee. Went in and worked with Chris. Went through some scans and measurements and Chris quickly and confidently made a recommendation. I have to admit I was skeptical at how fast and easy it went. I took the rec and did more hours and hours of research. Turns out that Chris actually nailed the boot recommendation. And their price was in line with the best I could find online. Went back in again and spent time asking questions and confirming the measurements. I just couldn't believe it could be so easy. Finally pulled the trigger and went through the full process. It was so quick and easy, I was still skeptical. But the results were really truly amazing and transformative. The boots fit perfectly and dramatically improved my skiing and performance. Lots of friends commented on how my technique and ability had changed (have you been taking a lot of lessons was the constant question). But most importantly - and why I did this - was about safety. So much more control in all conditions whether ice or powder. Chris really did know what he was doing and his confidence was earned. I only wish I had done Surefoot years ago.

I have a high arch in my foot, and before Surefoot ski boots were the worst part of skiing, with pain and frozen toes. Fifteen years ago I discovered Surefoot, and I got my first pair of Surefoot boots at this store in Olympic Valley. It took a few attempts, but eventually they got it right, and it was transformative as my ski boots literally stopped being a pain! Fast forward to early 2023 and I figured it was time to update my boots. I got a new pair with heaters and everything at another Surefoot location. Their current system is similar to the original, with a custom orthotic for the bottom of your foot and a liner filled with foam to match the rest. However, when I came to Olympic valley two weeks later I discovered on day one that the new boots fit worse than my original ones. So I came to this store quite disappointed.Tim, the manager, and his entire team were phenomenal. When they decided that minor tweaks wouldn't solve the problem, they rescanned my feet, made a new orthotic, and created new custom liners with the foam. After these updates the boots were almost perfect, but Tim wouldn't stop at "almost" and kept making minor tweaks for a couple of days based on my feedback after a day on the slopes. So it took a while (I have difficult feet) but the result was great! Compared to my old boots, the foam in the new ones is softer, and the boots still fit like a glove. The new heaters are also great. The Surefoot system works, and if you can, get your boots fitted at Olympic Valley! I had great success here on two occasions, 15 years apart. Tim and his team know what they are doing, are a pleasure to work with, and since they are next to the lifts you can test the boots in actual skiing and get any adjustments you need to get them perfect.

Payed 1600 bucks for boots and inserts. First pass they were way too tight. Second adjustment they crushed the top of my left foot and caused nerve damage resulting in peripheral neuropathy. I can't feel my left toes. The experts there really aren't experts.

Years ago I purchased a pair of Surefoot boots from another shop in a different state, and those boots never fit properly. I brought them in to the Palisades shop and Chris wanted to do everything he could to make it right. He got me completely refitted and in a pair of new boots that feel perfect. The whole experience was super friendly and hospitable.

STAY AWAY! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO WASTE EVEN MORE TIME GETTING BOOTS “FIXED.”$1345 should get you the best possible fit in the best possible boots. What has it gotten me? Countless hours adjusting my boots on the slopes, a lot of frustration and wasted time visiting other Surefoot locations for “solutions,” severe pain, discomfort, and now injury.I bought these last year and have since spent 23 days skiing— except most were 1/4 to 1/2 days because I spent so much time dealing with my boots. With no access to a Surefoot store on my most recent trip, I turned to demo boots to redeem my ski vacation. EVERY single boot I’ve tried on fits and skis better than my heavy, expensive, Surefoot disasters. After seeking a second and third opinion from other bootfitters in the area, the consensus is that my boots are surely too big. To add insult, stock liners in demo boots fit better than my “custom” liners. Now that I’ve seen other bootfitters, it’s clear what was lacking about my experience at the Tahoe Surefoot store. No one fit a shell to my foot first, and even though I asked about trying on other boots, the person who handled my fitting seemed more intent on fitting me into a specific boot rather than finding the best fit for me.I spent ages trying to find the right boot for me and was often custom liners would be the best option for my narrow heel/wide forefoot/scrawny calves combo. Unfortunately, I stepped into Surefoot during a time of desperation and just wish I’d known what I know now.Surefoot has told me that there’s nothing they can do to help—until I inconvenience myself further by visiting a store. I’ve accepted that I’m renting boots for the rest of my vacation, but I just hope this serves as a cautionary tale to anybody thinking about Surefoot boots. PLEASE, just go to a few different places and make sure they size you in the right shell first! Don’t just accept that their fancy scans and injection mold liners are accurate.Last but not least— the heaters were great until they weren’t. Now that one of the heater batteries seems to be malfunctioning, my boots have zero redeeming qualities.
