I was harassed by an employee named Natalie after I brought an empty shopping cart into the bathroom so my baby wouldn't have to sit on the floor, since I didn’t have his stroller with me. When I explained that I planned to disinfect the cart afterward, she called me “disgusting” and “sensitive.” Considering the carts are stored outside where birds can poop on them, I found her reaction completely unreasonable. I was just trying to care for my child while taking care of myself, and I’ll never shop there again.

We moved from the Bay Area to Orcutt a little over four years ago and have been shopping at your store regularly for our household needs. While we appreciate the convenience of having a local Albertsons, we’ve consistently noticed a stark contrast between the customer service experience at your store and that of nearby competitors—most notably, Trader Joe’s in Santa Maria.
At Trader Joe’s, the atmosphere is consistently warm and welcoming. Their staff greet customers with genuine smiles and friendly hellos, and they go out of their way to assist when something can’t be found. This simple yet powerful approach makes shopping there a pleasant experience, one that reflects a team that takes pride in their work and values their customers.
In comparison, the environment at Albertsons in Orcutt feels cold and disconnected. Most of the employees we encounter appear unhappy and disengaged. Smiles are rare, greetings even more so, and rarely does anyone ask if we need help or offer assistance unless approached directly. It’s disappointing—and frankly disheartening—especially in a town like Orcutt where community matters.
Customer service is not just a box to check; it’s the heart of any successful retail business. Your team’s attitude and energy shape the entire shopping experience. When staff members look visibly unhappy and uninterested, it reflects poorly on management and the culture of the store.
I strongly urge the leadership at Albertsons Orcutt to reevaluate the current store culture and make a renewed commitment to customer service excellence. A few key suggestions:
• Train and empower employees to greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a warm hello. It takes seconds but makes a lasting impression.
• Promote a positive work environment where team members feel valued and supported. Happy employees reflect that energy to customers.
• Encourage proactive engagement—such as asking customers if they need help or offering suggestions when someone seems unsure.
• Lead by example. Store managers and supervisors should model the kind of customer-first behavior they want to see in their teams. These may seem like small changes, but they can profoundly shift the atmosphere of the store and improve customer loyalty and community perception. Orcutt deserves a grocery store where customers feel welcome and appreciated.
We hope to see improvements soon, not just for us as customers, but for your staff as well. Everyone benefits from a positive, caring environment.

I love my Albertsons store! MARC and DIANE and TRACY are my most favorite checkers?.
MARY is An awesome manager!
In the last seven or eight months, I have noticed that my Orcutt Albertsons store is honestly, if you can believe it, cheaper than FoodMaxx!
YES…… They tend to be more expensive than a lot of stores, but overall in that timeframe they have really tried to lower their prices on general items. Except for bread, lol Keep up the good work though. And people….. Please use the app. It makes a difference.

I Love the bakery, but there is a complaint. I called to get my dad a cake for his birthday, and they said they were sold out of everything. Can you please give me some advice on what’s going on with the stoking. A.k.a. I love their buttercream cakes. And people are very nice. ? Thanks.

Even if the food isn't expired, I have had to return the half and half. Not a good experience for morning coffee. Service is not the best. A few good cashiers. The app on my phone for deals never worked. I checked in to make sure with the customer service in charge. She set it up and has no clue why it doesn't. All was in good standards.

STUCK INSIDE OF SANTA MARIA WITH THE STORE BRAND BARGAIN BIN BEEF BRISKET BLUES!! News from more than a month ago stated that Albertson's wants to merge with Kroger and we the consumer would benefit. Where is trust buster Teddy Roosevelt when we need him? News from a week ago had a consumer advocate recommend buying store brands because their quality had vastly improved and it could help the public combat the 20% increase in grocery prices we all were seeing!!
I visited Albertson's on Tuesday, March 12 to get regular groceries and some St. Patrick's Day food items. I just entered the store and was immediately confronted by a giant bin of store brand Signature Corned Beef Briskets . They came from Boise, Idaho. They were all around 2.64 lbs wrapped in "non-see through" plastic and in various stages of thawing. They were drastically marked down to $3.99/lb and sold for $10.53 per bag. This item made my shopping easy. I've never had a bad corned beef brisket!
On Sunday the 17th I made my typical St. Patrick's Day meal of Corned Beef and Cabbage for me and my girlfriend ( she being an Irish lass). I cooked the brisket in a Dutch oven for 132 minutes ( 2.64 x 50 minutes). I added the cabbage, carrots and potatoes at the appropriate time. It smelled good!! We sat down to eat but we couldn't chew the meat. Nothing like being a vegetarian on St. Patrick's Day!!!
My girlfriend has a rare breed of dog that is used to hunt wild boar in South America. This dog doesn't back down from pit bulls and will not only protect you from coyotes, it will catch them and eat them. It is a Dogo Argentino with a measured bite force of 500 PSI!! The dog had a feast. The photo below shows some of the meat sliced off the brisket. It was 40% fat and the meat was all gristle!!
I called consumer relations at Albertson's mid week (20th). The phone system hung up on me 4 times. I then tried the meat department and got someone who did not work in the meat department. They did tell me that the briskets only come in for the Irish feast day and that they don't carry briskets at the regular meat counter. WATCH OUT for SIGNATURE BRAND!!!

Come here if you want to get gouged. Prices are higher than anywhere else on town. DO NOT BUY TRI TIP HERE. They hide a pound or more of fat on the back and have the gall to label it "trimmed"

Can't hate on Albertson's! They are right across the street from me, and if you're patient, you can get some really good deals on certain things. :) The staff is always friendly too. Although I get worried, they judge me based on the weird things I buy at 1030 at night. But I'd do the same if I were them.

Worst Albertsons by far. Horrible customer service horrible management and food is always expired. We didn't even realized it was expired till we got sick to actually look at the date. I went in to get some macaroni salad and not once but twice it was expired. I called and whoever I spoken with just told me to throw it away and just come in, I went in and a different manager told me I should have keep it and brought it in. First of all I am not going back out just to get a new Mac salad after dinner and second of all, I am not leaving expired food in my fridge when I have two young kids that digs through fridge constantly. I told one of the workers I will be calling to speak to someone who's above you and she basically laughed and said ok. First picture was what I got recently that was expired. 2 pictures after that was still on the shelf while it's expired.
