Came in to pick up some wine and groceries. A non-uniformed staff member patrolling the wine section (which already has cameras) only asked me what I needed from the section. It was a poor attempt to prevent any theft and he directed his attention only toward me (despite other people were casually sauntering out with groceries straight from the shelf to the door). So not only did he bias his choice by race he failed to stop what he must have been doing in the first place.
The store is hit and miss with their lack of stock in their shelves in terms of groceries, so switching to Lafayette stores will be easy. The only people I would miss are the butcher who is excellent and Michael who is a great cashier, but I cannot tolerate this bias here in Orinda.

I would like commend Tim who checked me out at the Orinda store. Tim was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to answer my questions. Tim exuded friendliness, patience and a good attitude towards customers. I look forward to having Tim help me to check out in the future. Please relay my appreciation to Tim for a job well done. Swung by at 1225 am and despite hours showing they’re open and employees inside the doors were locked shut at both entrances.

I can't believe the cashier named Courtney demanded I should say hi and greet her. I can't hear on my right ear. I usually get excellent service in this Orinda, Safeway. She practically started a fight with me. She's the rudest cashier. She should be reprimanded. Is she fit to work in retail.I had to talk to the assistant manager Mr. Johnson to do something about her attitude. Never going to shop at this Safeway again. I'll make sure my friend and family don't. I had to ask who she was. she didn't have a name take.

I have gone inside this Safeway when I am in Orinda due to doctor's appointment. I have gotten sandwiches and cookies from this Safeway location and I manage to come inside and leave as soon as possible due to not being in line for a long time. I am amazed that with the three self check outs I was able to get done with my purchases fast. This particular Safeway does not have a huge parking lot like Lafayette. I can't remember if there is a Starbucks inside this particular Safeway because I came in for a sandwich and left right away. i was amazed that outside of the Safeway I saw a bin that separate the trash and recycle (no other Safeway I seen has that yet). When I am in Orinda again I will stop by Safeway for lunch

Workers here are great; Specifically Ernest, Rhonda, and Cece. Kind cashiers that make your shopping trip easier.

very unorganized or maybe lack of management. Waited 30+ minutes to pick up an order that was never even made. I was ignored by an older gentleman when i asked for his help. The only upside is a younger gentleman was very polite and tried his best to help out but unfortunately the order was never packed.

Great friendly staff, clearly popular, but... kind of confusing layout and prices seem higher than other local Safeway stores (staying in Orinda temporarily; used to Oakland & Berkeley stores.)

This place is slow as fudge... Don't use the deli counter unless you really, really like waiting. It appears they have 6+ people working behind there but one MIGHT help you. Just painful.

They have a 90 min time limit in there parking garage and then its $5 per 30mins after the first hour and a half. I’m sick of human being.

Well maintained store, there is lot of parking area, including accessible parking. When I visited fortunately there were no lines at register. Able to quickly pickup few stuff from the store.
