This used to be a good experience as a family operation that was taken over by a much larger out of area supplier. They used to tailor cut metal to size and did a good service to the community but now it's all large Lots and very little service. I think it's mostly a storage facility for the larger operations. I went over to get some bolts that are hard to get and they've already closed up the hardware operation which was only one of the places to go in Oroville to get what I needed, bad move for locals. Probably only half of the people working in the office that used to, and nobody that I knew, and it seemed to have a fraction of the local workforce.

Unfortunately when Valley Iron took over, they maid it quite clear that they had no interest in supplying to the small shops. They eliminated all the welding fixtures and components along with most of the staff since they were nolonger intending on cutting steel for the sale of anything other than full peices.

This place has turned into a dump. It "used" to be a heaven for everything fabrication related. They closed down nearly everything that helped out the local builders and fabricators. Now they will ONLY sell full length pieces, their trailer parts, and various brackets are all gone, and the staff is nothing like the old. I will not be going back to "Valley dump Iron" which is unfortunate because "ALL METAL SUPPLY" was my go to place where I spent tens of thousands of dollars over more than 10 years of business building everything from Custom Trailers to six figure budget hotrods... BTW, all the local fabricators I network with feel the exact same way I do. So much for supporting local business!

this place used to be the best place around . now it sucks it was taken over by Valley Iron and it can not compare anymore . orders are always wrong, and there product line has been reduced .this has made local fabricators scramble to find what has been dropped. All metals was on top of customer support.

Not all metals anymore. Sad to see that customer focus gone.

This place is now a joke of a steel supplier. You would think when you buy a business you would want to keep that businesses current customer base, not these guys. No more hardware, no more "buy the foot", no cut to length, no stock, topped with higher prices. As a business there are much bigger players with much better pricing that only want to sell full sticks. Gerlinger Steel, Del Paso Pipe and Steel, Far West Steel, Yuba City Scrap and Steel. Obviously these new owner don't know they are not the only ones around.

Yeah I agree. they used to have 6-8 people in the office and almost as many on the floor, over half the staff is gone. Used to get metal cut to order but only full lengths now so they got nothing for the walk-in customer. Classic story of a booming local success bought out by a distant handler and tossing the local guys to the curb.

this place has gone down hill at rocket speed .All metals was far superior in not only materials availability but service . and accuracy of work . they stopped carrying products we used regularly and wont even answer the phone 1 minute early .very frustrating to deal with. After dealing with all Metals since 1983 its hard to get used to inferior service!

I never even got anything from them but they called me for some reason. So of course I return the call and lady who answers was extremely rude and condescending. I don't even live in California I live in Texas but wow if y'all have that kind of attitude out there I can see why everyone is trying to move away from it.
