“Alex and his team are one of the top resources for people looking into buying their first home. The differentiating factor that someone should consider VCCD as their first resource when considering pursuing the purchase of a home is their empathetic approach to your individual situation. He is extremely knowledgeable and does not beat around the bush to try to secure a lead. They don't work off referrals or make you feel that if they can't help you, that you are wasting his time. From the moment I explained to him our financial situation , he immediately crunched some numbers and offered what my options were based on my current financial situation. I highly recommend this team as they let you explain your situation without interrupting you and thus makes you feel that they are truly looking out to find the best way to go about in qualifying for your home !Thank you Alex !”

“This place is SOOO Cool! I took my kids there and they loved it. They got to look around at all the different flowers and plants. One of the people there explained everything to me and was very nice to the kids. We will be back to plant some seeds that we have and contribute to the awesome garden!”

“30 years ago I was 18 year old troubled teen. My dad kicked me out on the streets. After a couple months went buy. I decided to hitch hike to California. I ended up on the door steps of the ventura county rescue mission. It didn't look anything like it does today. Which is not a bad thing. But while I was on the streets they took care of me when I need it the most. They where good back then. The people who ran the place back then where Jerry and Carol I believe. Just wanted them to know that I'm doing well for myself and my wife and our 3 grown kids. The 9 months I was on the streets and the mission taught me a lot ND I thank God for it.”

“I just moved across country and I’ve been donating left and right at the ventura Goodwill located on Telephone Road. I donated and also purchased a dresser for my son today. I wasn’t prepared to take home the dresser. Aiden and Barrett went above and beyond helping me out with my donation items and then figuring out a way for me to get that dresser home. Thank you so much to the both of you.!”

“I contacted HH, the Oxnard location, to donate furniture that's we're not using. I made the appointment via their website (not the express but standard which is free, though they ask for a small fuel contribution, which I was happy to do) They arrived at the appointed date earlier than I expected...I was sent a notification and everything. My only comment beyond the service is they took only 1 of my two pieces of furniture. The leather chair, which they opted not to take, wasn't damaged, clean but had some wear...the reason we wanted to re-home it is because we were wanting a change...but it was still in good functional shape...their reasoning for not taking it "it's not salable" which doesn't make any sense to me because someone who doesn't have a chair wouldn't mind something like this for cheap. HH is getting this for free (from me), any money they get is something right ? Despite me sending a photo of the chair and the other piece of furniture...the end result still seems illogical to me. I do recommend the organization and their mission. Keep in mind if your are donating anything it has to be deemed "salable"”
