OLG Parish School extends beyond mere attendance; it represents a sense of belonging to a community and a family. The school offers a comprehensive array of academic and athletic programs, along with ample opportunities for parental engagement.
My son recently matriculated into the seventh grade, having been a part of the public school system since his early years in education. I did observe a significant deficit in the academic rigor of the schools he had previously attended. He was not being adequately challenged in his studies or supported. In just a school year at OLG he has gained academic excellence, moral and ethical development, and we have gained a supportive community.
He has positive healthy relationships amongst his peers. Whom welcomed him and made him feel at ease since the first day along with teachers and staff. He has flourished tremendously. His remarkable growth has filled me with immense satisfaction and joy, reinforcing the choice to have joined OLG.

In the year 2021, I made the decision to transfer my daughter from a public school to OLG, and subsequently in 2022, I transferred my son. I am pleased to share that this has proven to be one of the most advantageous decisions I have made for their education. Having experienced schools in Illinois, Indiana, Texas, and here in California, I can confidently assert that OLG stands out as the finest. My son's academic performance witnessed a remarkable 90% improvement. The class sizes are notably smaller than those in public schools, affording the staff and teachers the opportunity for enhanced control, attention, and care. Equally significant is the reinforcement of their faith and spirituality, fostering a more steadfast, robust, and mindful development. Students are provided with ample opportunities to engage in diverse activities and seasonal sports such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, swimming, cycling, among others. Various events are organized where families can gather and share moments together. For parents deeply committed to active involvement in their children's education, who relish serving, supporting, and cherishing countless moments with their offspring, OLG proves to be an exceptionally fitting educational institution for your family. Addressing any negative commentary, it is imperative to acknowledge that perfection eludes any educational establishment; challenges persist, and circumstances occasionally veer beyond the control of educators and staff. Nonetheless, let us not overlook the pivotal role of home in laying the foundation for education. Regrettably, there exists a misconception among some parents that the entirety of education rests solely on the shoulders of teachers and the school, fostering a passive approach where they relinquish responsibility and entrust the school to work wonders. Indeed, the convenience offered by public schools in the USA, from transportation to lunch provision, inadvertently enables a sense of complacency among many parents, blurring the lines between parental responsibility and institutional duties. Gratitude abounds for OLG, a veritable blessing for both myself and my children, enriching our community in Oxnard.

I wouldn't ever wish this school on any parent or child. A friend of mine had a child at this school quite recently, her experience was horrible and the child as an individual was mainly targeted. Compared to her peers, she was an excellent student with some minor behavioral issues but not any that are substantial. Her male counterparts had much more behavioral issues and didn't get that same response that she would receive. There would be constant drama between the girls about relatively small things such as boys and such. A catholic school should be somewhat drama free and drug free, but both of those things are there and thriving at that school. The principal isn't very organized either and handles things very poorly.-teachers assume the worst of certain students-teachers don't teach very well or on grade level (math)- teachers are very nosy and seem to love to hear about student drama and even instigate it making it worse.Overall, this school is a huge disservice to the catholic community and I wouldn't bring my child here if it was my last option.

Never send your child here , they will not learn anything. The turnaround rate with teachers is ridiculous. They favor the male gender and if your parent is more involved in the school " let's just say " you'll get away with anything or if you're related to a teacher. *Teachers son brought a bullet to school - no real circumstances * the principal chooses what underlying issues or problems are worth punishing, depending on the parents who has found out or if it's gotten to the district. * A former teacher explained to me my child was being taught 4th and 5th grade math in 7th and 8th. * Everything is for pictures and video however there's not a real reason to have your child at this school. My child is back in public school and thriving, in sports and would like to join honor classes next year as this year she was catching up on missed curriculum for the past 1 year 1/2 .

I must say from the time that k qalk in this place there was love all around. Being able to appreciate that the things that God could put in your life and the things that he and her could do. I was raised christin not Catlic but I have to respect all ways that God works in the life of the broken. I know today that God is doing something in my life to where I can't understand it but I do know that he is a loving God and he could do all things. There is nothing impossible that he can't do.
