Planet Fitness is a widely available gym brand that emphasizes strength and a welcoming, judgment-free environment for all members. With over 2,700 locations, it offers a variety of equipment and amenities to support different fitness goals. Many members appreciate the 24/7 access, friendly staff, and clean facilities, which make workouts comfortable and convenient. The staff is often described as helpful and polite, able to assist with memberships and other services efficiently. However, some locations face challenges related to size and layout. Smaller gyms can feel crowded, especially during peak hours, with high school groups often occupying benches and squat racks for long periods. Members have noted that certain design aspects, such as awkward partitions and poorly defined areas, can make the gym feel hostile or uninviting. Parking and location issues also impact the overall experience, particularly in busier areas like Oxnard. Locker rooms and bathrooms at some gyms are considered small, with issues like missing shelves, hooks, and lockers that are too small or tampered with. Maintenance of locker and bathroom areas is less frequent than the gym floor, which can affect comfort. Despite these drawbacks, members value the overall environment, the availability of amenities like water massage, tanning beds, and red light therapy for Black Card members, and the consistent friendly atmosphere. Many find the gym relaxing and never overcrowded, making it a good place to build strength at one’s own pace.
I'm just amazed on how underrated this gym is. The staff in the morning are super friendly especially linda. They have all of the equipment to do my physical therapy here and all the equipment works as it's supposed to!
