I spend thousands of dollars a year at REI, due to being busy I waited several months to exchange a $70.00 dollar tank top from small to medium. They could not find the item under my membership along with several other items I purchased at the same time as tank top. The manager said, “ maybe you got it for free.” Are you kidding me. That tank top along with the other items were far from free. Although they still had the tank top they would not exchange. I had a $95.00 cash from previous years spending . I went to shoe section where I was ignored. Not even acknowledging I was there and would eventually get help. I had no more time to be there, so I left. I’m done. I always got security knowing the exchange policy was good. Apparently it no longer is. I will no longer shop at REI. I’ll stick to Nordstrom and other stores with better return policies and service.

The advertised return policy is absolutely bogus! I attempted to return some $150 defective HOKAS with the grippy things on the bottom peeling off. I was told by Erica the manager that it's just time for me to purchase a new pair due to her assessment of the wear on the bottom. Erica told ME that I have 300 miles on these shoes. That is hilarious! I'm not a runner. I WISH I could put 300 miles down. The bottom line is that the satisfaction guarantee at REI is NOT true and NOT satisfying at all. The customer service was not what I would expect at REI. And did I forget to mention my HOKAS are falling apart???!!!!!

Abby in footwear was so very helpful to us. We've found it difficult to get shoes even at other REIs and her knowledge of the different brands and types of shoes was excellent. At some point she went for a lunch break but then came right back out to help people given her experience was needed.I hope she's given some rewards other than just more responsibilities. Thanks Abby!

Very cool store, but Larisa on staff bumped it from nice to memorable. Very friendly and knowledgeable, and left an outstanding impression of the store.

This store has a good team. There was a misunderstanding in pricing for an item I was purchasing because of a discount being offered. I was honest with them and with a quick call to management they honored the price. Couldn’t be more grateful because I did months of research on this item and I was happy to get it from this store.I will always support REI.

Came in after I crashed out on my bike for a quick look at my mechanicals to make sure all was well, and i wish i would’ve taken the name of all the homies that were working the bike shop. Amazing service, one employee in particular came to look for me on the 2nd floor to connect with me about a service my bike might need and were just a dope crew of guys who took care of me and my bike. Customer service was superb boys thank you !!!

The store is very clean. Everyone is very nice and helpful. They also offer a great selection of items along with great prices and sales. Their curbside could use some help. There were multiple people standing around and it seemed like no one even knew I was there when I finally went inside. I won't be ordering pick up from this location again. But I'll come in a shop if I'm in the area.

Had everything I was looking for. Not inexpensive but if you want clothes that last, buy them once. Great fit too.

I wasnt going to take time to write this but thats what it is about - time. Went in to the REI a month ago and felt hostage by the woman cashier. A 5.98 transaction generated 15 minutes of questions by her. "Hows your day? (ok until then) Do you want to give to our charity? Are you in our rewards program? Do you want to be in our rewards program. Do you want to reveive emails? Did you see our promotional items? (and this is the kicker) How did you happen to hear about us" (???) OMG REI has been around for like 153 years! At this location in Oxnard for decades. I honestly thought it was all a joke and I was on camera. But is was all geting to be very scarry and creepy.Im sure "corporate" makes them ask all these time consuming questions but after a while they are obviously for data harventing survey reasons and really waisting our time. I was really frustrated becassue she held on to my money and item until I answered. I finally said.."PLEASE! I have to go!!!" I doubt I will ever return. Just way way WAY too much interrogation.

The store is fine but We bought couple things( this store is not inexpensive to say the least) ...and no bags ??????They can get recycled paper bags and charge the customer...ppl need bags to put they merchandise in !Give choice to those who wants to save the environment. I prefer a bag to put things in !

REI just gave me the run around on my mini e-bike. I was told by one associate that if I brought the tube in they would fix it...then when I called another associate said they only fixed tires on bikes with specific components! What?? It's just a simple tire fix! No other components will be touched! Not happy...I've been a member for years and this is all news to me.
