About the only thing to complain was the sofa bed - the mattress is very thin. Other than that, the hotel is a solid 4 star. Hence, I would have it at a 3.7 or so, as it stands right

An Absolute Gem!!!! Make this the place you stay!!!For years I've been dealing with the typical "hum-drum" hotels in the Ventura area, but on this particular extended stay, the Residence Inn - River Ridge was recommended by a colleague. It has been an amazing stay and I have yet to find even the slightest complaint I could lodge against this facility when compared to any other hotel in the area.First, let's get the biggest note out of the way. When making reservations for accommodations for over 100+ people, it's never easy to find a place that can put them all in one spot, and support them with even basic amenities. But this facility is 100-percent geared towards large groups of travelers. There are sufficient rooms here for more than what we needed, and we never felt as though we were encroaching upon each-other. That, in-and-of itself is amazing. I want to offer major kudos specifically to Marissa, James, Diane, and the entire Residence Inn crew for getting us in quickly, and for taking great care of our group for our multi-month stay. For the facility itself, there are several key factors for making this your "must stay" location for your next vacation or business trip to Ventura County. For starters, the rooms are as spacious as you can find. Even compared to other Residence Inn facilities, this place has comfortable space. Everything from the green areas between the 8-room buildings, to the pool areas and main building, there is ample room. That is quite the achievement for any lodging facility in California! The grounds are meticulously maintained, the pools are cleaned frequently by trained professionals, the lighting and security are abundant and provide an air of safety. The beautiful main building overlooks the River Ridge golf course, and many of the rooms have a fairway view that adds to the serenity of the property.I was granted one of the penthouse suites, which overlooked the golf course. In the penthouse suites (of the 30 or so buildings, each has 2 penthouse suites), the room was abundantly spacious, with two queen sized beds in separate rooms. Each room was afforded its own bathroom. The room was complete with a sofa and arm chair, fireplace, kitchenette, and dining table. The rooms themselves were extremely comfortable - more on that in a moment. All in all, the space was extremely comfortable and welcoming. As far as the dated appearance goes, this whole facility is in the process of getting an update. All of the rooms are being upgraded to befit a more luxurious hotel than the photos I have attached would suggest. Modern paint, furnishings, and finishes will adorn the remodeled rooms. The staff is otherworldly wonderful. From Marissa, the Director of Sales, to Diane the Front Desk Manager, on down to the extremely friendly and polite room service and maintenance staff, I was always greeted with a smile and a friendly salutation. This place achieves Disney-level customer service, and it must not go unremarked. For over 100 days our stay has been nearly perfect, definitely within the limits of the term "sublime". When I coordinate the lodging for this many people, I'll usually find a bevvy of complaints and litany of nick-picks from people who maintain a variety of high standards. However, even as the one responsible for handling such complaints, I only ever received minor complaints from my group, all of which were handled immediately by the staff. This does speak to the tremendously wonderful customer service, the accommodations, and the amenities available here.In summary, if you are looking for a great place to hang your hat, be it for one weekend or several months, you cannot go wrong with investing in a room at the Residence Inn River Ridge. It's been worth every penny and I absolutely plan on returning to here exclusively when I return in the future.P.S. The photos here will be outdated soon, as the whole facility is receiving a modernization and rooms will be upgraded.

Very spacious property, but parking was a problem. I believe the hotel parking was laid out poorly. There is security driving around 24/7. Rooms were spacious, but there were no elevators. Breakfast was great...

The rooms are spacious but need updating. I travel all the time and the beds were quite possibly the worst I've experienced. When I asked for a room with maybe a newer bed, they informed me that all of their beds are the same. Great. I went to waart and bought a bed topper. I stayed for 4 days but will not be staying here again.

Extremely Disappointed with Poor Customer Service and Alleged RacismReview:I recently stayed at the Residence Inn in Oxnard, California, and I must say that my experience was incredibly disappointing. As a loyal Titanium Elite member, I have always expected a certain level of comfort, professionalism, and respect during my stays. Unfortunately, my recent encounter shattered these expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable due to the poor customer service I received. The night auditor, whose name unfortunately escapes me, displayed an alarming level of rudeness and indifference towards me. What was even more disheartening was the distinct feeling of racism that permeated our interactions. As a black man, I have never experienced such direct and blatant discrimination before. It is disheartening to think that in this day and age, we still have individuals within the hospitality industry who harbor such prejudiced attitudes. The level of discomfort and distress I felt during my stay is something I hope no one else will ever have to endure. This type of treatment is simply not acceptable, regardless of a person's race or background.I strongly urge the management of the Residence Inn in Oxnard to investigate this incident thoroughly and take appropriate action. The night auditor responsible for this appalling behavior should be held accountable for their actions. Racism has no place in any establishment, and it is crucial that steps are taken to ensure such incidents are never repeated. As a long-time Marriott member, I sincerely hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for the Residence Inn in Oxnard. It is imperative that they address these issues promptly and implement measures to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests. No one should ever be subjected to such treatment, regardless of their membership status or ethnicity.I will be reaching out to Marriott's customer service to report this incident, and I hope they will take appropriate action. It is my hope that by sharing my experience, positive changes can be made to prevent others from enduring similar distress.

room is nice but a little out of date. generally hotel service is good. internet speed is like 1990s, and phone signal is next to nothing. if you plan to work while staying there, choose another hotel. or even if you plan to use cell phone to watch video online, do not think about it when you stay

I usually love Residence Inn by Marriotts, but here the staff was super rude. They wouldn't give me refund even though I got covid and couldn't make it. I had a previously poor experience here, but was going to give it another go. I think it worked out for the best, however, because now I know never to stay here again. I stayed here another time before and had a poor experience in which the staff threatened to call the cops if I didn't go to the front desk to pay the $100 pet fee within 15 minutes. For context, they already had my card on file and even though the pet fee is high, I was going to pay it no problem. I was just running a few minutes later than they expected, apparently. It was outrageous. I paid all required fees and will be happy to spend my money at other hotels in the future.

Very quiet place. It's old, decently taken care of, but nothing fancy. Really close (driving) to lots of restaurants. Next to a golf course, so get a room facing it.

The hospitality team came every two days, breakfast was awesome, staff showed respect, loving , and an overall outstanding attitude. The suite gave me an atmosphere to feel at home and I cooked. Great scenery, golf course nearby, very quiet place and great for meditation, close to 101, channel island harbor, the connection shopping mall and other greatplaces. Frankly speaking the only thing that really needs a lot of improvement and changes is their internet service, you can't get service on your regular network and you can't either connect to theirs either cus it's always loading and will never connect. A lot of people complained about it.But you can get internet with them for $50 if you upgrade .don't know if that is why you can never get the free one.Their customer service people were always nice

Where do I begin...We only stayed here one night, thank goodness. Here is a list of all of the issues we had, not necessarily in order of importance.1. We walked in to see mismatched furniture that looks like it came from a secondhand store.2. Air conditioner would not work, only heat and it is summertime right now. They did send engineering right away, which I did appreciate (hence not getting a one star review) but he looked as if he did not know anything about thermostats, and could not fix it and said there was nothing he could do. Because they were sold out there was no other rooms available.3. While they had coffee packets in the kitchen there was no coffee maker.4. Housekeeping really needs to get their act together: there were dead and dying bees around the room and they did not refill the toilet paper. There was a quarter of one roll left with no extra rolls in the room.Breakfast was pretty good so that's the other reason I gave them a two star review instead of one star.I'd rather sleep in my car next time and stay in this place.
