My second visit was not remotely as good as the first. Lots of merchandise in the kitchen tools area had no pricing on the pkg or rail, but I hoped my item would scan at the register. When I checked out, it didn't come up at all in system, and they refused to sell it (I understand why), however she and another 2 employees REFUSED to ask a mgr to find out the price, and set the item aside. Cashier was a bit abrupt, and moved on to the next customer. That's not only terrible customer service, but likely a Weights & Measures issue, too. REALLY disappointing.

I'm sad my family finally has made it into this establishment because now I have all the yummy bake goods and the most delish Ube ice cream ever present in my house. Haha So far we have only tried buying all the things we shouldn't eat. The prices are good and we are always welcomed in such a friendly manner. The people at the bakery department have been so helpful and going out of their way to help us. Plenty of parking outside. I'm yet to try the food court. Kudos on offering daily military discounts. They also do discounts for students which is pretty noble.

It's ok the fruits and veggies are fresh. Grill city may have lacked in the food area. But it's ok. By the way Grill City is way overpriced.

Purple rain, purple rain. Shout out to our beloved family and Ube nation! Seafood City is a market, bakery and marketplace specializing in Asian and Filipino groceries. There's something for everyone here! Enter the store and turn for freshly-baked savory and sweet treats. Order an Ube flan cake from the bakery. Pick up some individually-wrapped pastries and lechon takeout. At the time of this review, there's a big beautifully decorated Christmas tree, Filipino pride banners and Filipino-themed Christmas gifts. (For great prices!) I bought all of the above for my cherished Filipino family. THANKS SEAFOOD CITY! I also bought Halayang Ube, Arroz caldo, Taiwanese black sugar, rose tea and a beautiful set of purple floral tea cups for a New Year celebration. *Saves world* Come here to show off your Filipino pride and support your amazing Filipino family. Speaking of family, a legendary Yelp Rockstar from the Philippines is helping me organize a Yelp picnic UYE this summer. LA/SF/Vegas. And worldwide.:) Everyone who works here is super nice and happy to help point you in the right direction or make a recommendation if you need advice. The market is sparkling clean with well-spaced isles and helpful signs. This market is a great place to stock up on your Latin, Asian, Middle Eastern, African American jambalaya too. Shout out to the Philippines and our beloved families. Happy holidays everyone.:)

Was so happy to have another Asian market here, When opened it was great!!! Went there last week , for gods sake the clams were 1/2 dead floating in the rest of them, told the employees 3 of them and not 1 seemed concerned or more troubling didn't think it was a problem. It smelled really bad .I now have question about eating ANYTHING out of there !!!! Where's my 99 Ranch ?

Super excited to have a large Asian grocery store nearby. It's Filipino so it primarily has ingredients, dishes, produce most commonly used in Filipino cuisine. It does have some other Asian specialty foods as well, but just not as much. The main attractions are of course the seafood - it's in the name. They have a large area for what I presume is fresh seafood and also frozen seafood, many different kinds of fish and shellfish. The other major draws: the fresh bakery in the front with ube pandesal, sans rival cakes, and more. And, the hot food line where they serve a rotating variety of delicious Filipino dishes, many of which I have not heard of including grilled food, sweets, side dishes, and, of course, halo halo. Sunday's they also have like a pop-up hot pot and other hot food.

They CHEAT you on pricing. You MUST be VERY aware of prices. The produce section has metric scales then they price your produce by the pound at check out. This is likely ILLEGAL. I will NOT return. I WILL INFORM others of your criminal actions!

Surprised to see I haven't reviewed this yet. I am happy we have this market in Oxnard. It's big and reminds me of the markets you see in Los Angeles, where you walk in and you can buy small kitchen appliances, kitchen wares, there's an in-house bakery going, and a large hot-food area too. They have a nice selectin of fresh produce, including some East Asian specialties, and a good selection of other groceries as well as a strong seafood department. My new favorite section is the sukiyaki/shabu-shabu frozen meat section where you can buy thinly sliced American or Australian wagyu beef. The American variety is from Snake River Farms, which I've ordered direct from before, but I love having the ability to just buy a small quantity, already sliced, and not break the bank ordering a big piece and paying for frozen shipping from the company. I haven't been able to find Japanese natto here, which kind of surprised me. I asked a couple of employees but they weren't familiar with it and so were not able to tell me if they had it or not.

I don't like eating burnt food that taste like propane. I'll stick with Island Pacific for my Filipino food

Just left this place feeling discriminated. We ordered pancit and we're excited to buy it and share it with our kids since the Filipino folks who ordered before us had their container overfilled (the lid barely closed!). We'll, they practically took most of the pancit and when it was our turn I told the gal I wanted exactly what they ordered. The gal proceeded to remove the tray and I thought "oh she's going to tell the cook to bring up another tray of pansit because there's not enough for our container." NOPE!! She scrapped off what was left and put it in the tray - it was LITERALLY no more than 1/2 of what she gave the Asian folks before us (we're Hispanic). They charged us full price, and since I'm not one to make a scene, we left. She either knew the folks and hooked them up, or purposely gave us less than she gave them. So, beware.

First of all, it's clean, neat, and organized. It's huge inside and has all the things you need (from hand held fans to live crabs and everything in between). The service in the store is great. Everyone is so helpful and knows exactly where to point you to get what you're looking for. The grill city restaurant, however, can use a bit more organization. The lines are long because the orders get mixed up with others in line. We all end up with our own food it just takes a bit of time to get there. The food is delicious. I have to try the bakery, so I'll be back for that. Definitely go if you need an Asian market.
