Pacific Grove Golf Links is widely celebrated as a spectacular value on the Monterey peninsula, often called the "poor man’s pebble." The course is beautiful from start to finish, with a layout that is both fun and well-kept. The front nine meanders through pleasant Pacific Grove neighborhoods, but the back nine is the absolute gem and calling card, offering spectacular and picture-perfect views of the ocean and Monterey Bay, including a famous hole by a lighthouse. It is a very short course, with several short par fours, but it is in immaculate and great condition, with excellent greens and fairways, even after rain. The pace is generally fine, and the staff is very nice and friendly. The Pro Shop is well stocked with cool logo items. A unique and fun part of the experience is the tons of deer everywhere, undisturbed by golfers. A minor, typical downside is some unrepaired divots on the greens. While not the cheapest public course, it is considered the best value in the area, providing an amazing and fantastic experience that rivals other coastal courses for far less expense. Most players state they will definitely be back.
Only played the back 9 but it was a great time! Nice views of the ocean. One thing I didn’t expect is it’s a very SHORT course. 300 yard par 4s from the tips. Only a couple of longer holes.

Crowded on black Friday but still the best value on the peninsula. The back nine is particularly spectacular, rivaling the other coastal courses for far less expense.

Lives up to being one of the best values in the area. Course layout is great with many scenic holes, especially on the back 9. Looking forward to playing again soon
