Clam chowder & halibut tacos were amazing.Skip the rock cod tacos. They were a little dry; however, they were still tasty.

Overpriced calamari and pasta, only the chowder bread bowl was okay. Ordered takeout and ate the meal in my parked car outside only to find the calamari EXTREMELY chewy, under breaded and not worth the almost $20 price tag. The shrimp Alfredo tasted like heavy cream or half and half, a canned RAO’s sauce has more flavor and consistency. The clam chowder is very thick, with a mild fish-y flavor and light pepper seasoning which was not the best but not the worst either. Just okay. Considering the rest of the meal was disappointing, the sourdough bread bowl (the bread itself) was the star of the show and I bet it wasn’t made in house.Parking: Limited street parking in front of restaurant, difficult to access for those that need accessible accommodations.

Awesome clam chowder that is full of clams instead of filled with potatoes. They also do fish and chips well. There's 3 draft beer selection when I was there and the IPA is good. So all round good seafood a couple blocks away from the tourist filled street along Cannery row.

We came in for halibut fish & chips and a bowl of chowder. They were out of the fish & chips and it was 3:30pm. So we both chowder and bread. Chowder was ok. A little to thin. I hardly had any clam and the potatoes were so small, I thought I was having a puree. I give the soup a 6.5 of 10. It was good, but not award winning.Give them a try and hopefully you can enjoy the fish & chips.

I'm going to give this place a sort of 3 star rating. I think a 2 star is a bit too harsh. The good news is they are pet friendly which is awesome! The staff was friendly as well. The young kid however who helped the older gentleman gave us a weird look and said "ooookay" when we asked for the vinegar on the side for the fish and chips order.Overall, the food was okay, no wow factor here. The clam chowder was okay. The fish I had was really tasty but I'm not sure it's worth $19 for 1 little slab of fish and a bunch of fries and a little lettuce leaf

This place has really good chowder. We had it topped with Dungeness crab. Solid 10/10.The house special pasta and fried oysters were disappointing. The oysters and french fries were unseasoned. The house special pasta just tasted like cream, not much else and the seafood was a little overcooked.

The food was so amazing we came back the next day! They offer much more than chowder (which was delicious). Try the pasta!!

Unwelcoming Experience for Families at Vivolo's Chowder HouseMy family's recent visit to Vivolo's Chowder House left much to be desired, not due to the food, which we unfortunately didn't get to try, but because of our initial interaction that deterred us from dining altogether. Upon arrival, we informed the host that we were a party of four, including our baby. The host's response was condescending as he corrected us, "You mean five," gesturing towards our baby and the stroller with an unwelcome tone. We were then bluntly told that the stroller was not allowed inside. Understanding the policy, we opted to dine outside, only to be met with a smirk and a dismissive remark about the wait time, without even the courtesy of taking down our names. The treatment felt particularly singling out, as if the presence of our child was an inconvenience.Dining out with young children can be challenging, and a little empathy goes a long way. Unfortunately, we did not feel welcomed or valued as customers, which led us to take our business elsewhere. Families considering a visit to Vivolo's might want to keep this experience in mind.Hospitality should extend to all guests, regardless of their age, and it's disheartening when a reputed establishment falls short of this basic standard of service.4/7/2024 - 2PM

First time here. Clam chowder was very flavorful! My husband loves a good bread bowl and the grilled top with cheese was his favorite. I had the sandwich combo so got to have a sandwich with a side of chowder.

Come for the clam chowder.Fish was also great. Very fresh Cod.Servers were very nice and overwhelmed by the crowd but kept very good attitude. The place is simple, unpretentious. I loved the 70s

Great food. The oysters and chips had one more oyster than showed. I got hungry.

Been eating there for 30 years. It's a nice change when nothing is changed.
