The “signature” carrot cake was extremely dry and the service was slow. It took way too long to get something as simple as the next tea selection. Overpriced. Difficult to find tea room; nothing was labeled. It was an okay experience but just one and done. Not worth going back.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Shoutout to the service, namely Mark and Patty! The food was delightful, the tea was comforting and enjoyable, they made accommodations for my gluten-free friend, and I would definitely come back.

The tea and scones were delicious and a great way to start the afternoon tea. Unfortunately, the tea sandwiches and desserts were hit and miss...the curry chicken salad and the chocolate mousse cups stood out, while the smoked king trumpet mushroom sandwich was interesting. The tea includes entry to the museum and could be part of a relaxing day at the Getty Villa. By itself, the tea is not a good value.

The service was impeccable. The servers were friendly & gave very good service. Unfortunately the sandwiches were not that great. The main problem was the bread was extremely dry. It did not taste fresh. It tasted stale. The desserts were ok, but again the cakes & the macaron tasted stale. The only dessert that tasted great was the raspberry cream tart. The teas & the choices were very good. The room really needed an update & some ambience added. The room looked very empty, tired and did not have any ambience. The wall of windows were great which gave you wonderful views. It was somewhat pricey for the quality of food.

Attempted to book their tea service which I later found out that it has to be reserved months in advance. With out of towner’s luck there was a cancelation and scored a table. It was an all thumbs (and pinkies) up! Starting with the chief waiter Jonathan who imbued the proceedings with humor and clever repartee. The serene surroundings, peaceful views and quiet atmosphere with ample room (a toddler and her nanny made a few laps around the room, delighting all of us humans and a well behaved, huge rotweiler) .Their signature black tea with lavender was a perfect accompaniment to their offerings. Perhaps a little more contrast in flavor between the sandwiches would be my only suggestion (perhaps smoked salmon in liey of the roast beef). But for the money, presentation and overall experience this place was far superior than the Connaught hotel in London and Tiffany’s Blue Room in NYC.Bravo to the staff and management in charge.

Limited menu, but the food was great.

Karina the hiring manager was egregiously ignorant towards me and had already hired someone else, yet she called me to come in and interview on a Sunday morning anyway? Total waste of my time.

Everything about this tea was fantastic. The setting is gorgeous. The food is traditional tea fare with a more Mediterranean feel. Thanks to the on-site gardens. Our server as extremely personable and very attentive. Make sure to book in advance. Afternoon tea hours are very limited.

I can't speak for any other items, only the item I bought, which was the tiramisu. It tasted weird and was not good. I shared it with 3 other people, and they only ate 1 bite and did not want more. Instead of getting fancy using orange liquor which was the wrong move, stick to more of a traditional recipe.

Took my sister for her birthday & she was (me too) thrilled & surprised by the loveliness & beauty of the setting. The tea presentation along with the food was very pretty & delicious. We then visited the grounds. IT WAS A PERFECT DAY IN THE LA area. Totally appreciated & memorable . THANK YOU

Our lunch was tasty and healthy! We ordered a salad (ricotta, pistachios and artichoke), a margherita pizza and a chicken wrap. Portions were alright, but could have been more generous with the cheese on the pizza and the chicken inside the wrap. Some might find the food to be light-flavoured, but it was alright for us.Prices are alright, about the same as any other cafe in LA.

The teas, sandwiches and desserts were amazing. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Chamber music in the background and a nice view of the Getty grounds rounded it out. If you enjoy afternoon tea, this is a perfect place to go.

Our servers were amazing! The lavender tea blend was very good. As always impressed with Getty Villa. My friend needed a wheelchair and the gentlemen at the drop off got us one immediately! Customer service is often poor everywhere else. The Getty is still is phenomenal Ive been coming since the 80s

Excellent service, nice choice of teas (a few more decaf options would be welcome). The photos on the website looked as though it was outside. It's indoors, without much of a view - the only negative. Otherwise, a lovely experience.

It's our second time with the tea experience. A bit disappointed to see a half empty room. The first time the room was full of tables and even if there were more people their noise level was minimal . This time, I don't understand why people couldn't keep their voices down. We had John (I think that's his name) helping us with the tea experience. We had him the first time as well. He is a true professional. We enjoyed both times his knowledge, passion and professionalism. It's really rare to find someone that is so committed to his role. The food wasn't like the first time but it wasn't bad. Maybe some barely dryness in the bread here and there, and the scones perhaps a bit brittle. We go every year to London, Oxford and other cities in the UK and we always have high tea so we know what we want to experience. Of course, we know this is not the UK but we enjoy it because is good. Perhaps a little flower on the table and in the big empty space perhaps a large table with flowers and panels with themes from the Getty exhibitions or themes around tea so it doesn't look squalid. We took almost a year to comeback because we always had challenges to find reservation. I cannot believe that you are reducing the amount of tables and lowering the standard letting it die isn't the solution.
