Sam was great to work with. He came to my house two days after I cold called him. He measured and drew up plans by the next day. I visited the store a couple of times after that to pick wood for my cabinets. No one in the shop did a hard-sell, and Sam was happy to draw up new plans as my project changed. He also made great suggestions for design. My cupboards are gorgeous! I LOVE them. They came exactly on time. And everyone in the shop was very communicative with me.

Went in hoping to find a friendly, local business to install built-in shelves and cabinets. I got the definite impression they're only interested in high-end projects. If you're rich, you might find what you want here. If you're just hoping to spend a few thousand dollars, they're not interested.

It's been a few years since I worked with Sam at Castle. I had been badly ripped off by Gilman in San Mateo, so I was hesitant, didn't have a lot of money but I thought I'd try. I knew what I wanted but also knew those cabinets were way out of my budget, a single mom, a teachers salary. I had a picture & asked if he could find me a cheaper version of those cabinets. Well long story short, he got me those exact cabinets, no fancy pulls or slide outs but I got those cabinets! And I built my kitchen around them. Five years later, as I'm polishing them up, I still remember his kindness. He ordered them, stored them until my guy could instal, brought them down to Montara himself & helped bring them up the stairs. He was so very kind to me, I will never forget it. Highly recommended! Thank you, Sam!

I had my kitchen designed by CK&B years ago and still love it, but was amazed that when a cabinet hinge finally broke, they contacted the manufacturer and had two replacements shipped out for me!Also still pleased by their list of recommended contractors, one of whom I used for a second project. It's great to have businesses like this in Pacifica ... thanks!

Sam was fantastic in his planning and design of our kitchen, bath, and laundry cabinets. This planning is CRITICAL to a beautiful finish product. Of particular mention is HOW you use your kitchen and how it fits within the available space. Each detail needs to be considered with finish molding, room for plumbing, venting, outlets, and electrical runs. Sam spent a considerable amount of time during planning to ensure that the crown molding matched to the cabinet lengths and runs, work triangles, and our appliances. This is NOT a task for a homeowner to take on if you are attempting to create your dream kitchen. Sam spent the time during planning, installation, and follow-up to ensure our kitchen was what we envisioned, and more. There are some particular details that only a professional will be able understand. I will post some pictures for everyone to see. Again, ensuring a uniform look to the space is extremely important so as to ensure cabinets are centered in openings, fit your appliances, and are symmetrical to your opening, hood, and adjacent spaces.

I absolutely love my new kitchen and bathroom from Castle Kitchen! Sam, Sammy and Ana were wonderful to work with and any time I called with a question, they responded immediately. This was my first remodel and they made it so pleasant experience. Thank you Castle Kitchen for making my dream kitchen come true. I am one happy customer!! Judy DeLuca

I LOVED working with Castle Kitchen and Bath. My kitchen remodel started over a yr ago with the planning process and I had numerous places come over to look at the space. Most of them wanted to charge over $2000.00 just to draw up plans, not castle kitchen they came over and assessed the kitchen within hours I had complete plans drawn up and sent over with quotes. We did this 3 times with each time the kitchen project getting bigger and more elaborate to maximize the space. They were able to recommend a contractor "Bodus Construction" that I used, along with other vendors to make this project go as smooth as possible. I used all their recommendations and could not be happier with the final outcome. Anna was always there when I needed her for even the smallest mundane tasks that frankly wasn't her job to do, but she helped me do them by making phone calls and scheduling people to come over down to ordering certain items for my kitchen. Friendly staff that really cares about their clients. I was actually alittle sad that the project is finished because I enjoyed working with everyone at Castle Kitchen so much. A big thank you to Castle Kitchen, I can't wait to start my next project.

This is a tough review to write. Let's divide it in halves: The Good: 1. Service was responsive in spades. Ana and Sam put up with Way Too Many questions, and repeated price quotes to test the market for floors and counter tops. Sam had good design insights which we used (he's done this before). He accepted late design modifications just before the order went in. When things went wrong, the Owned The Problem and fixed them. I did not go with their installer - if I had I would have saved money, but I don't know what the quality would have been. Since there was other kitchen wall/floor work involved, I used my G.C. for installation. 2. The cabinets are outstanding. Multiple contractors (e.g. the tile and floor guys, installers, workmen) have commented on the high quality of the cabinets and hardware. Even other cabinet makers I know have said DeWils is a good brand. What was delivered looked just as we ordered from the samples. 3. The Price Was Right. These cabinets were at or below Home Depot, and below the other custom maker prices I got (5 quotes in all). Countertop granite fabrication was only on par with others, but I preferred to have one firm accountable. If you give Sam a chance, he'll beat those other guys with a smile. The Bad: 4. I paid for 30' of 6" granite counter backsplash I did not use and could not get a rebate on. I'm talking about the LABOR, not the stone (which I bought myself). This may be because Castle uses another firm for fabrication, but it still seems to me that if you don't have that work done, there should be a price reduction - we went with a tumbled marble full height backsplash instead. 5. Several finishing pieces were missing: an end piece to fill the gap on a wall; 8' of toe kick for the island, some end panels. Sam had the end panels shipped at no charge. My contractor special cut the missing filler and toe kick from excess molding and panel wood. Cost us a little more labor. Some of the cabinet shelves were missing, and some larger ones were extra, so Sam had new ones cut and edged at no charge. 6. The "wine cabinet" we ordered was supposed to be square cubby hole shelves into which a bottle of wine/liquor would fit. Turns out the molding around the openings constrained the width to less than a bottle-thickness wide and we can't store any wine there. Sam offered to have his guy route out round edges to allow the bottles to fit, but we didn't want to chance the look of an ad hoc hand-job and stain matching, so we just put knick-knacks and small olive oils in there. Didn't want to hold up the entire kitchen development plan for a special reorder (weeks delay). Sam did give us some money off. BOTTOM LINE: I'll use them again, but not for the granite. I doubt you can get this quality of accountability from a large corporation.

absolutely wonderful results from castle kitchen and bath with our renovated bathroom. for structural reasons it had to be taken down to the studs. anna benko's (designer for castle)advice and counsel on the tub, toilet and fixtures were spot on for what we needed and very lovely. we had her husband, gordon benko, do the contracting work as he is on the contractor list from castle kitchen and bath. he was kind, meticulous, super skilled, hard workingand fun to be around. how often do you hear that about a contractor? and... the work was done on time at a very reasonable price. couldn't be happier!

Very torn about leaving a three star review (love the kitchen that Sam designed for us) but constant delays and nonchalant attitude about the delays was painful. Part of me wonders if not using one of their recommended contractor had something to do with it. We were told that kitchen will arrive in 4 weeks, it took close to 7. The actual date of arrival changed half a dozen times (always for a later date) and overlapped with our move date. Countertop bought through through them same story, people doing install told us it will take one week after the measures, ended up being two. Coordinating with contraction crew and other deliveries became a total nightmare. Happy with the end product, but service was quite poor.

My parents used Castle for their major kitchen remodel and I liked it. So when it was time for my remodel, I went there first. They were most helpful, and Sam's suggestions made my vision even better. When something was accidentally omitted in the project, Sam covered the cost without hesitation, even though I had signed off without it. He remembered our conversation about it, and made it right. I will use Castle again on my next project of this type.
