I’ve been a regular customer at Pet Food Express and have always appreciated the friendly and helpful attitude of most of the staff. That’s why today’s experience was so disappointing, it stood in stark contrast to the service I’ve come to expect.
I was standing in line and asked if the register was open. One employee looked at me but didn’t respond, and the cashier also didn’t acknowledge me. Unsure, I moved to the next line. Only a 5 seconds later, the cashier called me back. I returned, already a bit irritated by the dismissiveness.
I was there to exchange some recently purchased canned food my dog hasn’t been eating. I had been told that my purchase history could be accessed through my phone number, no receipts necessary. Even so, I brought multiple receipts, just in case. I had my young daughter with me, who was crying and uncomfortable, and I was clearly trying to manage both the exchange and a toddler.
Instead of offering support or empathy, the cashier abruptly said, “I need the receipt.” I reminded her I had given my phone number. Her cold reply with a bad attitude was “There are 17 transactions here,” as if the frequency of my visits was a burden rather than a sign of loyalty.
I walked away frustrated—not just by the lack of assistance, but by the complete absence of basic customer service.
To be clear: this review is not about one bad day. It’s about being dismissed and given some attitude by someone who represents a place I’ve supported consistently. Seventeen transactions in the last 4 months alone, that’s not a small thing. That’s the kind of loyalty that deserves respect, not impatience.
I hope this feedback reaches management, because customers like me shouldn’t leave the store feeling this way.

First time Pup dad .. the staff saw me freaked out with my 6 week old Laberdoodle Rigby.. They were so kind enough to walk the isles with me and help me grab everything a start up pup dad will need.
