The store was tidy and clean. The employees were really nice and helpful - from the Front End Manager Aracely, Manny the stocking clerk andf the cashier Diana. I was looking for particular item on sale and had gone to 4 other stores looking for it. When I got to this store they were also out so I spoke with Aracely who asked Manny to check in the back. They didn't have any more so Aracely said to pick out an equivalent product and she would match the price of the item I was looking for on sale! Woohooo - I wouldn't have to go to another 3 stores looking for the item! Diana adjusted the price (way down) at the checkout and this Safeway made a customer out of me. I won't be going to the Safeway that is closer to me. Safeway should be proud to have service oriented employees like Aracely, Manny and Diana!

Super confusing and Terrible checkout experience. No self-checkout/express checkout, and they use only one line for all counters, literally entire store checkout in one line??!! First time I saw such a big grocery store using only 1 line to route all customers for checkout, they literally yell at you all across from the other side of the store to get you, such inefficienct management. I just put down my 1 item and left.

The only local place outside of Oceana Market is extremely expensive. Sells terrible produce at jacked up prices and passes off garbage cuts as prime beef.
I remember picking out a pack of what was labeled snow crab legs and it was just that fake crab stuff. Or getting a cut of beef that looked like NY strip and it is something considerably less tender and slightly more edible than the sole of a shoe.
The deli counter IS slow. I have stood there waiting for long periods of time before anyone has come to help me, especially around breakfast.
While the staff is kind enough, the prices are so bad that they agree. You can not stretch your dollar unless you shop elsewhere.
Just for the sake of posterity I want to tell you that for $100 dollars at Costco you can get most staples for less. $10 for 6 cans of Tuna, rotisserie chicken for $5 bucks, 3 dozen eggs for $13 dollars. A huge bag of chicken thighs or grass feed beef patties for $20. It's not worth the convenience.

When checking out customers, please do not ask about physical traits. It is very rude.

Not all Safeways are created equal, especially if you live in San Francisco. We choose to shop in Westlake or Pacifica to find an increased selection of products, whether it be better produce or meat. We also come here often when we have a beach day. It's easy to get all our beach picnic supplies here like beverages, snacks, sandwiches and sushi. The sushi department, located in the deli section - will often make simple special rolls for us. My BF's daughter is kinda picky about her sushi rolls and they will make her special combo that she loves. The bakery department makes pretty little cakes, we picked one up for my daughter's 2nd birthday which was a sparkly little narwal. Super cute and wasn't even a special order.

I went to shop on a Friday night for some grocery, the cashier William was playing with a kid. After I was next, I handed him a bag, he kept on scanning, I thought he was going to bag my grocery like he did previous customers, I had to bag my own grocery and I asked him do you guys bag the grocery if I bought my own bag? He said we do but I have to move on to the next person cause the management needs us to move on immediately! So he stood playing with a customers child got 5m and waited for them to leave then moved on to next person and bagged and had a conversation with him but I spend $300 and he could bag my grocery? I felt so disrespected! And there was only two people behind me.

I wish I could give it negative stars. Safeway is never really very good but this one is really bad. I rarely go, but I wanted to get something that they would have that the other markets do not and the lines were 10 or 12 people deep. Only one cashier open. This is not the first time that I've just dropped when I picked up after seeing the line and left. Remember, three is a crowd? Well, 47 is a crowd also. It reminded me why I refuse to go to Safeway. Sometimes I forget and think maybe I'll get lucky this time.

Poor customer service, deli staff is clueless. Checkout line is long and confusing, what's the point of having one line for all the registers? Do yourself a favor and drive to the next Safeway.

The line system is the MOST inconvenient thing. Let people pick their own lines. I spend more time in line than shopping. i refuse to shop there because of it. But, if I want starbucks I am ALSO affected because people don't want to wait 20-30 minutes in line and opt to check out there. Management needs to visit their surrounding stores and get it together. Honestly. It's worth the drive to Linda Mar Safeway, you'll be in and out way faster.
