Sanchez Art Center is a vibrant community space that showcases a variety of art exhibits, often featuring work from local artists and groups. The current show, 50/50, displays 50 small artworks from 53 artists and is open on Fridays and Sundays, with appointments available on weekdays. Located in an old school building, it is a friendly, dog-friendly place with a nearby dog park, making it a great spot for visitors and locals alike. The center hosts multiple exhibitions each year, including those by the Art Guild of Pacifica, and offers rental studios for artists. Open studios are held once or twice a year, providing insight into artists’ creative processes. Visitors praise the center for its welcoming staff, affordable entry, and fantastic exhibits, making it a valuable cultural asset for Pacifica and the Bay Area.
A truly special place with so much beautiful local and affordable art. At the moment there is a truly extraordinary exhibition on climate change adaptation and ocean art in Pacifica. The executive director took me on a tour and I learned so much from our exchange. Truly worth a visit!
