Could have been MUCH better Could have been much worse. Hotel is dated and old. Sure they keep the lobby looking fresh, and the exterior landscaping is beautiful desert but the rooms well ....... Adding big screen tv's are nice but that does not make a stay worthwhile. Old noisy air conditioning systems. Bathroom fixtures are ahem, vintage. Shower curtain is unraveling and thread bare. Be aware that the building does not have elevators .. at check in they say 'oh about 8 or 10 steps .. double that .. not worth nearly $300 a night to shlep your luggage to the second floor .. and the staircase creeks and has uneven sections which could have led to a disastrous accident had my husband not caught me before I tripped and fell down the flight. Nope, cannot and do not recommend. Sadly this Best Western and the other Best Western (thousand palms right off the 10 freeway will not be visited again... nor with any of the Holiday Inn properties .. WHAT THE HECK has happened to the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area ?????

It was ok but the TV didn't have service and I called the front desk. The for help and the front desk employee lied to me and my husband. He said the spectrum was out for the whole hotel! General manager came to our room and looked at the cable it was as old and not connecting. He fixed it but he said that the hotel wasn't without service. We didn't get it fixed for 3 hours. It's too bad the hotel manager didn't compensate us for such bad customer service! Not good for employees to lie to customers! Don't think we'll stay there again

Really nice hotel. Great locationWe stayed 2 nights and had 3 rooms for us and extended family.Staff were all very friendly and rooms were clean. We wanted to stay in Palm Springs but the price was so much cheaper and 30 min drive is not bad plus free breakfast.I like being close to stores and restaurants, there is a cvs, sprouts, Albertsons, coffee shop and some nice restaurants within walking distanceOne complaint is the pillows were so overstuffed and hard. Everyone in our 3 rooms said the same thing. It made your neck stiff because it was just too thick and not squishy. They should replace all of them and doesn’t cost much. Beds were comfortableAlso we mentioned to them the shower water was not very warm/hot and they said sometimes the handles need adjusted/fixed. They compensated us though which I wasn’t expecting so that was really nice customer service. We have always stayed at embassy suites but the one across the street had bad reviews which led us to stay at best western this trip. I stayed In best western a lot before I had kids and travelled for work and always loved it. our experience here I think will switch us to best western for future.Nearby activities: We went to the living desert zoo and aerial tram and loved bothWalkability: Everything you need very close

We were here this weekend for a lacrosse tournament. The location was great, staff were friendly and the beds were comfy. We usually stay at best westerns when we travel and they've never disappointed. With this location my only gripe would be that it took forever for the water to heat up.

3.5. There are many things about the stay here that were positive compared to the negative but the negative are what would prevent us from coming back even though they are less. Pros: -reasonable rates compared to other hotels in the area -made to order breakfast -friendliness of breakfast staff -spacious rooms (we stayed in a suite) -central location close to things -A/c works fast and gets cold! Cons: -Parking fills up fast and the only parking left was on the back of the property which is poorly lit -pool is NOT heated but is advertised as such -no hot water in room -no elevator on suites side (only 2 stories but a pain to carry luggage up stairs) -staff not truthful or lacks knowledge Ok now into the nitty gritty. We stayed her from Saturday to Tuesday. Check in was fine. Staff were nice gave us our keys. Went to our room and it has 2 double beds not queens. Called to front desk said they had no queens (looked on website and that is not true). There is no hot water. Went to take a shower. Turned on water. Let it run and run. Now if you aren't from California you may not know California is always in a drought. It is even more pronounced in the desert areas so letting water run for this long was stressing me out. We called the front desk who sent someone up and they let the water run for 10+ minutes and it barely got warm. No where near hot. And this has to be repeated every time someone wanted a shower unless we all showered back to back which is what we ended up doing. I would take the first shower (which was ice cold) my husband went second and his was warm and the 7 year old went last and got the warmest water. This is so wasteful and unnecessary. The pool didn't even open one day (our keys didn't work) so we had new keys made then they figured out no one had unlocked the pool. The pool id advertised as heated but was not warm and since it is surrounded by buildings can't get warm from sun. The best part of this trip was the breakfast. The man cooking the food was amazing. He took your order (not writing it down) cooked to order, remembered who got what and was the friendliest, nicest man ever. There were 2 staff that came around clearing plated and wiping tables. In addition to the made to order breakfast they had a coffee machine, hot cocoa, tea, toast, fruit, cereal, milk. It was the best hotel breakfast we have ever experienced in terms of food provided, friendliness of staff, portion sizes and taste. We had tiny microscopic baby ants in the bathroom of our room and the body was they provide was empty. We just put our trash out since we were traveling with pets and it was emptied and rebagged while we were out. They offered shower caps, lotion and sewing kits in the bathroom as well which was odd to see as many hotels have removed that service or gone to the communal bottles which is great for the environment but super unsanitary when you think about what not nice people do to them. Our fridge also froze everything but we were able to adjust it a fee days in. It made a lot of noise but it was in the living room so didn't disrupt our slumber. The air conditioner was amazing. It was stuffy in our room we cranked it down and it was so cold in there! We were able to adjust it to a level that kept us all comfortable. It can be noisy when turning on or off but I appreciated it worked well considering it was warm during our stay. The reason I wouldn't come back is the lack of hit water. It was just so wasteful and seems like it could be fixed or we could have been moved to a different room but the lack of concern in the staff's part was off putting.

Why I am I giving this hotel 5 stars? The check in was quick and friendly. Lobby and common area spacious and clean. The rooms are clean and comfortable, had a great sleep on king bed. Internet was easy to connect to. Used a Firestick on the TV with no problem. There's coffee, fridg and micro in room. Ice available. Includes made to order breakfast. Good location. If you are considering staying here, some things to consider. These are older buildings but well kept. Entrance to rooms is off the walkways. There's stairs on one end, elevator the other. It's a bit confusing at night and it's dark. There's tree's that shade the walkways blocking light. Breakfast starts at 7 made to order eggs, bacon, sausage and hashbrowns, it's good. There's cereal and toast and the usual drinks and fruit. I'd like to see breakfast a 6 AM.

I would call this a solid 3 star hotel experience. It's not fancy and has a few flaws but overall, it was a pleasant experience. The property is conveniently located near a few grocery stores and Starbucks within walking distance as well as other amenities a short drive away. They are pet friendly and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Special shout out goes to the breakfast staff who were hustling during a busy holiday weekend with made to order hot breakfasts and keeping the tables and counters all cleaned and ready for their guests. The free breakfast was pretty good with made to order eggs, pancakes, hash browns and bacon (for those non vegetarians.) There's a small gym with no weights, only cardio equipment but it did have a Peloton bike that gave you access to some short trial classes. I enjoyed that. My room seemed recently upgraded with new fixtures, carpet and bedding. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and we had a newer heating/ac unit that worked great (I know other guests wrote about having issues in their reviews.) It's not fancy and does have an older look to the rooms and property, so not able to bump it up to 4 stars. But my main reason for keeping it at 3 is because the shower is very difficult to use/I felt like the knob was about to break right off. On top of that, hot water was scarce in the mornings. It was nearly impossible to take a warm shower unless you waited until other guests left for the day. During a short shower one morning, the hot water ran out when I had shampoo in my hair. This was on a chilly November morning-not good. Overall, it was fine for a short stay. Given that I travel with pets and I'm a rewards member, it was a good affordable choice in the area.

Left 4 stars but had to change to 5 stars after the exceptional service I received after I left. Shout out to Jacob and a huge thanks for your willingness to help me and follow thru with locating and helping facilitate the return of two of my favorite jackets i had left in my room. Its unfortunately a rare thing for people to make an effort or follow thru based on my conversation with several other hotels I stayed at while trying to locate my jackets. Thanks again!! Will definitely be back.Rooms: Only complaint would be the shower. Had to run water for 5 min or more to get hot water and the shower head didn't fully engage.

Very run down and old. Dated and smelly. The shower did not work. Although, the free breakfast was very good. Not worth it to stay in such a dumpy place.

Shower was excellent - high nozzle and great dispensers.TV was horrendous, the remote was terrible. No HBO, Showtime only. In their defense I understand all of Palm Spring is locked into Comcast so this probably exits everywhere in town.Food & drinks: Great breakfast with the room, equivalent to a trip to Denny's.
