I had a underpar voucher which they refused to use it even after I booked directly with thier pro shop. I explained I had a underpar voucher and I asked what is the earlest tee time that I can make. The pro shop told me 6:50. I realize the voucher states after 9:00 but when booking, the golf pro should know that. All that I was asked was to was to make sure you bring in your voucher. So when I arrived they refused to honor it. Since I booked with another twosome I had to pay full price since we had already made other afternoon plans . We played the day after Labor Day and there we absolutely no one on the course. I felt like I was baited and switched paying full rate. Golf staff had care less attitude. Course is an average resort course wide fairways and slow greens. Take my advice and play elsewhere and save your self money. There are a lot of great courses for less money and better service close by.

Took my father in law golfing here yesterday. The hotel grounds and most areas of the golf course are in impeccable shape with manicured tee boxes, fairways, and pristine lakes. However, all the greens were being aerated and very slow and bumpy. A word to the wise!! We were charged 92.00 per player snd NO MENTION of this was made by either the person who booked our round NOR by the starter. That was not right and as such not certain when I will be returning .

We have stayed at this hotel many many times over the years. The grounds are very nice and the lobby as well. There is a very unique boat ride that goes from the indoor lobby and around the outdoor grounds. It used to always be free but now they charge $5 or $10 per person to ride. With the increasing price of the hotel, I find it not acceptable that hotel guests now have to pay for this amenity. The hotel rooms were renovated a few years ago. It was a nice upgrade but they are already showing their age and are getting pretty worn. On this last trip, the room wasn’t very clean. Hairs all over the bathroom floors and just not very clean. We didn’t experience this but overheard two different parties talking about roaches in their rooms. The hotel really needs to get this taken care of asap. The food is generally good and the front desk staff was very nice. This was the second time though that we were asked if wanted the complimentary breakfast or the reward points for being Bonvoy members. Both times we opted for the points instead of the breakfast and both times we did not receive the extra points. Finally, our biggest complaint about this hotel is the AWFUL air conditioning in the rooms. I know it is hot out but this is the desert and hot temps are the norm. Our room could barely get lower than 78. This problem has existed for years and we’ve been told that the AC units are old and weren’t upgraded during the renovation. It really puts a damper on our stay and ultimately will cause us to look elsewhere.

We stayed at the JW Marriott Palm Desert over Memorial Day weekend. The resort is beautiful and the grounds are stunning. Our first night was Friday and everything was perfect. We spent the day by the pool and enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails in the lobby. We ate lunch on the patio at the Rockwood Grill and had one of the best caprese salads I've ever had. There's plenty to do at the resort including multiple restaurants, 18 hole golf course and pools. The mini golf is a nice touch. Rooms are fine, maybe a little dated, but adequate. The balcony was a nice size, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious. Housekeeping was so-so. The downside of the resort is it became overwhelmed over the weekend. The garbages at the pool were overflowing and even the hot tubs were unusable due to how busy it was. An adults only pool is desperately needed at this resort.

This is a huge resort, with beautiful grounds, but very impersonal. I think of JW Marriott as being a luxury brand, but this one is not – it’s a mid-market hotel servicing the masses, with mediocre food and service, dressed up with some spectacular public areas and views. We booked a signature view king, and the view was gorgeous. It was otherwise a very standard hotel room. The bathroom was small, with a single vanity, no shelves, one towel/robe hook, minimal amenities. The closet was in the bathroom. One side of the bed had abundant power outlets (usb & plug), but the other side had only one conventional plug. We could hear our neighbors through the walls. The restaurant was ok, not great, with exceedingly slow breakfast service and food that was not hot by the time it was served. Most appalling was the tiny $16 fruit plate – see photo. The pool is huge, the lounges all have numbers and QR codes for ordering food & beverages. In addition to the usual cabanas for rent, they have round sun beds and some of the front row lounges are roped off, VIP seating for a price, with nice padding (vs bare plastic) and umbrellas. What completely turned me off was the horrible plumbing disaster we had the first morning, with sewage backing up into the shower (!!!). Maintenance came and began working on it, it continued to get worse, it made me gag to see the entire shower covered in an inch of sludge. It was very upsetting. After they all cleared out and it was supposedly “clean, ” I looked at the shower floor and saw bits of sewage – UGH! Clearly the housekeeping standards are not adequate, this room should have been THOROUGHLY cleaned and disinfected. Front desk manager, Callie, was very solicitous, and eventually moved us to a suite at 4pm. It was spacious but showing a lot of wear and tear, furniture doors almost impossible to open. It did have a good bed and lots of closet space. We also got a free day pass to the spa, which had nice padded loungers and was peaceful and uncrowded. They admitted that the room we were initially given should not even have been rented, as they knew there was a plumbing problem. Callie promised to comp the first night, but at checkout it had not been done. It took 15 minutes of back-and-forth with the desk clerk and then a supervisor checking with someone in the back room, and then tediously processing the credit once it was approved - for room and tax, but not the resort fee ?.

This place is absolutely beautiful and immaculate! The staff is incredibly competent and friendly which is hard to find at such a large resort. Nusrat, who is the General Manager of this massive hotel with 1, 000 + employees stopped and asked me how my stay is going. I was blown away by his kindness and desire to make sure I was having a great stay. Staff is only as good as its leadership, and this place has a good leader. I totally recommend this place to singles, families, or just a solo getaway! You will not regret it!

Horrible experience at this resort. The room was so hot we couldn't sleep at night. It was 77degrees in the room. We called the front desk and they told us it was because we were staying on the high floor. The next night we called again and they sent maintenance up to take a look. They said it was because the filter was bad. And they changed it. We told them it still didn't seem like the AC was cooling they said we'll send you a fan. An old squeaky fan is what we got to stay cool at a Marriott Resort! And of course it did not cool down the mid seventy degree room. Called to talk to a manager but they couldn't be bothered to speak to us. Would never stay at this resort again

I'll be brief because no one likes the five paragraph review. This hotel is amazing and worth every penny. I stayed for my 47th birthday from June 23-25, 2023, and everything was perfect. Every employee I talked to was willing to help and just the way the hotel looks at night will make you happy. There are plenty of activities for kids and the every part of the hotel was really clean. You never have to leave the resort as there is a Starbucks on site and plenty of dining options. The elevators were also really fast and I never had to wait more than 30 seconds after pushing the button. There is nothing worse than the "elevator line." The property is more expensive than others but I promise you it is worth it.

Our 3 might visit started off on the right foot when Enedina checked us in. She made us feel very valued as gold members. Our housekeeper, Anita was so cheerful and helpful getting us everything we requested. She did this with a smile, we loved her. We ate/drink at many of the restaurants on property. Manny was so cheerful and always happy to see us in the main bar restaurant. He has been there 18 years and is still so happy and seems to love his job. The staff is truly what made our visit. Fantastic! There were four of us celebrating a retirement. They made it very special. We will definitely go back.

Great value and the course was in mint condition, golf carts have a great GPS system on board, makes the round enjoyable. Drink cart never too far away either

Started off with a great welcome from Blanca at the concierge’s desk. She was able to expedite our room and sent up a nice gift for our stay. It really kicked off a great start to our vacation. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the resort the food was magnificent. The golf was challenging, but fun and the boat ride was very entertaining. A great getaway for four days. We’ll be back and definitely see if Blanca is around. She knows Customer Service.

After many searches and reading of reviews on TA, we decided to book at the JW Marriott and we couldn't have been more pleased! It is a beautiful property with so much to do. The room was very clean, newly updated and had gorgeous views of the property. The pool had reserved chairs along part of the pool, but not all the way around. We sat in the second row, only a few steps from the water. No need to pay for the reserved seats, we had excellent service if we needed to order food or drinks. Having a Starbucks on property is another plus! We visited all the shops in the Promenade and also the Aviary with the beautiful birds. A boat ride is available around the property, but we didn't do it, although it looked like a beautiful way to see the resort. One evening we just wanted to stay on property, have a drink and a small app and just chill. We happened upon the Rockwood Grill where we could sit outside and do this very thing. It was laid back and perfect for the evening. We had brunch at Rockwood Grill the next morning before our flight. It was buffet or order by menu. They both had great selections. If you are undecided on booking a property in the valley, you won't be sorry you booked here! A little bit for everyone, and very well kept!

I was excited to play this course but the knucklehead in the pro shop really started the round off on the wrong foot. David (or maybe it was Daniel) should really consider a job that isn't customer facing. He was extremely rude, passive-aggressive, and toxic. I know finding good people is challenging but he is not your man to interact with customers. Other than that, the course was fun and in pretty good shape. A little dry compared to Desert Willow but not bad. The resort is showing her age a little - could use some stucco work to make it look a little nicer. All in all, not bad but thanks to David (or Daniel), I'll probably look to other resorts when I return to Desert Springs.

The resort was beautiful and met my expectations. Unfortunately I left a new high end power supply in the room in my haste to get out for a flight that I thought I would miss. I called immediately as soon as I landed at home to report the the item that I left behind. I was told the room had not been cleaned yet, but they would call me back as soon as they retrieved it. Sadly, nobody call back that day so I called in the next day. I spoke to a different representative that assured me they were looking into the matter and would call me back within hours. Once again, no call back. Upon escalating a nice gentleman reached out and took a marked interest in my situation. He followed up appropriately but unfortunately the item was not turned in. I appreciate the security team’s effort and assistance in advancing the situation to file a lost property claim. Within hours I received a call the claims department which informed me that they were closing the case and that nothing was going to be done to compensate for the item that was left. I was loyal to the Starwood brand over my 25 years of personal and business travel. Needless to say, I will never stay at a Marriott property again. It’s a loss on both ends. I am beyond disappointed with how Marriott and the Palm Desert location handled the situation.
