Amazing environment. Ranger Leanne gave a great presentation that made aspects of the geology more understandable.

I had such low expectations for this National Park. That said, I was blown away at the truly unique beauty of this place. The granite dells contrasted with the dwarf forest of Joshua Trees is way beyond merely driving past them on the way to Vegas or L.A.Restrooms: Pit bathroomsDog-friendliness: Service animals are ok. All others only in designated areas (mainly paved areas).

Well worth the trip from San Diego. The panorama loop trail takes you up high with incredible views. Be sure to take water and snacks as there is nowhere to get them after you leave your car.

Amazing landscape. If in the area, should not be missed. Just driving through you will see the beautiful Joshua trees, the cactus garden and some incredible rock formations. Make sure you bring everything you need for a day. There are no stores/restaurants in the park. We started and ended in Indio as a loop and did 4 small hikes, did not stop to eat or break and it took 8 hours. We started North at the Hidden Valley Trail, then Barker Dam Trail, drove up to Keys View, Skull Rock trail, Arch Rock Trail, then passed Cactus garden last before we exited near Coachella. Our favourite trails were Hidden Valley and Barker Dam but they are all worth seeing and all the ones we did are short (1-1.5) miles. While driving you are seeing unique, different landscape so the whole drive is an experience and pleasure in itself. There are restrooms at all the trailheads we stopped at. They do not allow dogs on any of the trails but you can bring them into the park. There are some nice picnic areas at most of the trailheads.

Joshua Tree NP is such a beautiful and unique park to visit. There are so many different hikes and spots to visit inside the park. My favourite spots were Cholla cactus garden, Hidden Valley, exploring cap rock off the path and keys view at sunset. I only had 3 days to explore but I think 5-6 days would be perfect. It was beautiful to see quite a few animals in the park including bunny’s, squirrels and coyotes.

This is a great park for both kids and adults! There are lots of rock climbing and bouldering to do. The Joshua Tree forests and the Mojave/Colorado deserts are unique. There are lots of hiking trails to choose from based on your comfort level. Highly recommend hiking the Split Rock Trail and the Arch trail. Many of the campgrounds in the inner park are mostly for small RVs, but some are nestled against the rocks. Jumbo or Belle campgrounds are worth looking at.If you've never been to JOTR, then you're in for a real treat. Highly recommend spending at least one day in the park.Picnic area: Lots of picnic areas throughout the park.

This is a magical place, with vast deserts covered with different types of embryos. There are different plants, big stone mountains and gravel mountains in different areas. You can enjoy different landscapes in the same park, and each one will amaze you. With many hiking trails, it is also a paradise for hiking enthusiasts.
