Very expensive place. Booked as a package with flights. Ended up getting a handicapped room that was really awkward and just didnt work for us. Asked for a regular room as was offered with my package but they claimed no other rooms were available which seems not likely as the parking lots were all less than half full at night. Also charged us a surprise $25usd a night for parking. There is really no way not to rent a car and stay in the desert so that was bogus. This is our second time here and pretty disappointed this time around. Goof at the course is also now a 4.5-5hr pace which can be very frustrating for $200/pp per round. Great pools and good location for golf.

Marriott Vacation Club with whom we dealt with at Marriott's Shadow Ridge Resort is ripping me off! I made, and timely cancelled, a reservation for a promotional vacation. Nevertheless, in contradiction with the terms and conditions of the reservation, they charged me and keep charging me for the cancelled promotion. I've tried to follow up with Marriott and the Marriott Vacation Club directly regarding this matter, but they bounced me from one office to another and will not even let me speak to the specific contact at Shadow Ridge's Marriott Vacation Club office with whom I made the reservation and cancelled it. We'll never stay in a Marriott affiliated facility again! Beware of the promotions the Marriott Vacation Club offers at Shadow Ridge Resort!

Our stay at this Marriott property started off well—the grounds were beautiful, clean, and well maintained. However, we had a serious issue with one particular security guard that ruined our experience.
For three out of our five nights, this guard repeatedly came to our room in the evening, claiming we were making noise at 2 PM in the afternoon—when we weren’t even in our room at that time. When we asked for proof, he had none. His behavior felt like harassment, and it got to the point where we cut our stay short and left on the fifth day.
We couldn’t help but wonder if race played a factor in how we were treated. We’re a Brown family from Canada, and the guard was white. It’s disappointing to even have to consider this, but the repeated targeting made us question his motives.
Unfortunately, we’ve already booked another Marriott for April, and we’re regretting it. Hoping for a much better experience next time, but this location definitely needs to do better.

Absolutely loved our stay here! We had a beautiful king size bed with a fully equipped shower/bathroom with a fully stocked complete kitchen and gorgeous dining area with enough room for six people to sit! We could easily watch TV from the table of we chose to or play games as a family there as well! The seating area around the TV was perfect for us, as was the deck with a beautiful view! We also had an attached mini sweet with a king size bed and full bathroom with an apartment size refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. My family absolutely adored this place! We didn't take time to make use of the facilities and amenities, but really enjoyed our stay here and our visits to Palm Springs!

Beautiful resort with amazing landscaping and very nice pools. We had a 2 bedroom villa in the first building facing the golf course which was great. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We loved having the kitchen and washer and dryer. The view was quite nice and although being on the first floor was practical the people above were quite loud at times. To avoid this potential problem I'd ask for a top floor room.
Another thing worth noting is that the mattresses are quite firm so if like us you prefer softer ones like Westin you definitely won't like these.
The pool area was large and had a bar in the middle with complimentary water and an ice machine on the side which was nice. The pool wasn't too deep but deeper than other resorts we've been too so that was nice. The gym is in the basement of the building next to the main lobby which is only a 5 minute walk from our building. They had lots of equipment and change rooms. Overall a great resort and we would definitely stay again.

Marriott Points Users - Beware!
I don't write many negative reviews but, for future Points users considering Shadow Ridge, DO NOT CHECK IN LATE.
Arrived one day late due to bad weather preventing travel on check-in date. The front desk said my reservation had been "canceled" because I had not contacted the resort, on the check-in date, to advise we would be one day late. There was NO NOTICE of cancellation. No email, no text, nothing. They could present no proof, nothing in writing, that the room was in fact canceled. But reception would not budge, because they had already given the room away to someone paying with dollars instead of points.
Just surreal. Friday of a holiday weekend, nowhere else to stay, everything booked. Decades at hotels and various resorts and never seen anything like it. People have sued over less.
Done with Marriott for good. Their guests are important only until there is a dollar to make off someone else - as I painfully learned, at your expense.

I want to go again! It is so popular that you have to make a golf reservation in advance to use it. Among the vacation clubs, this one has the best facilities.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom (both kings) unit. Great outdoor eating space and large bathrooms. The pools and hot tubs in the community areas were great - very clean. Loved the water exercise class. Nice area to walk with some trails over looking a small lake and golf course. The extra line to hang items on in the bathroom was nice but more hooks on the wall would be ideal. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the beds were a bit soft and the towels were thin and very rough - a simple upgrade on these is needed.

The stay was great but still haven’t received the promised points for sitting through their presentation, it’s been 6 months. They keep saying they will fix it but nothing yet.

Love the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom units in the Villages. Can take a morning walk to the registration building and get coffee from Starbucks. Can walk just 10 mins to the pool that has a pool bar for snacks, lunches and alcoholic drinks plus juices and sodas.
Daily activities offered are for craft classes, Bingo, social hour, water aerobics plus movies on certain days, times and locations.
It is only 8 minutes to Ralph's, fast food and movie theatre plus nice sit down restaurants.
Go in the heat of the summer when rates are much lower than in season.
Stay away from the crowded pools overfilled with screaming and laughing kids, and teens. Go to a cool air conditioned mall, a movie or a bowling alley. As your mother would say.."Always Wear Sun Screen."
They are currently refurbishing the buildings maybe 2 - 3 at a time. Request one of the nice new ones and hope you are lucky! 😉

We've owned our timeshare for 20 years. Shadow Ridge is our home property. One of the biggest selling points for us was the luxury bathtub in the master Villa as I am a "tub" person. We are in the newly remodeled Villa to my disappointment they have removed the bathtub and all remodeled villas going forward will be the same. The guest Villa luckily has the shower tub combo not at all the experience I have loved about these villas for many years. Having to share a bathroom with my kids. The remodeling is very nice with many improvements and owning Marriott knowing our fees go toward keeping up with aging decor is a big plus until now. Sadly disappointed tub person.
