It's been many years since I shopped Nordstrom Rack, but since I was in this shopping center for other needs I decided to check it out. I was immediately put off by the grungy look of the store, which is in sharp contrast to the Nordstrom Racks I've been in. Perhaps all the stores are like this now, but I found the concrete floors and industrial look to be in opposition of the Nordstrom brand of higher end quality. The garment collections were wide ranging for brands, which is a plus. I found the jewelry department to be lacking, with loads of $20 cheap watches and junk jewelry that is not what I'm used to finding in Nordstroms. As I approached the beauty department I was immediately struck with an off-putting smell, along the lines of stinky feet. That was enough for me - out the door I went.

The Rack is a decent shopping experience, it seems to be much more stylish for women and good picks in other departments. Men’s wear is never as good as I would like it to be. It could be so much more.

I found a leather backpack for my partner for Christmas. It wasn’t going to work for what he needed, so I was going to return it and saw the receipt that there are no returns or store credits. If that’s true, I won’t be buying gifts any longer at the store, and less likely to shop there at all.

Nordstrom in Palm Desert discriminate and the some employees are not customer service oriented. This includes on of the store Female supervisor.
