Our community mail
Box was broken into line was long but the people upfront did move the line quickly for it to be taken care of. I think community reinforcement needs to do better at handing these broken boxes. Interesting how people in line were complaining it’s the post office fault when there HOAS should do a better job at protecting their mail not the post offices job to walk any mail to door . What they should do is hound their HOAs and police departments.

update 8/25
And again our mail box was vandalized and this post office is too lazy to walk to the business around it to drop off their mail. Rain, snow, sleet, hail - here's your mail. Have to get out of the car to do your job - a bridge too far! Our business is too small to send someone to stand in line to deal with some guy with an attitude (and get our neighbors mail, so we end up delivering for the other business in our building).
(from May 2025)
For reasons unknown, USPS put a notice on the mail box saying all mail is being held until 5/25. After waiting forever in line, the rude and unprofessional jerk behind the counter claimed (without looking it up) the box was vandalized months ago. weird, we got mail last week. He then hands me a stack of mail and my missing packages. I found out when I got back to work, he gave me the mail for everyone in the complex. So I made sure to do the USPS' job and delivered the mail, and explained to each neighbor that the guy at USPS said we are likely not to get mail through June.
Why can't the driver just get out of the car and drop off? These are businesses and we really need our mail. The guy behind the counter and our driver, would be doing the tax payers a service and finding a job where quality and customer service are not important.
Next time I have to send anything outbound, I will got to cat city or downtown PS, those postal folk seem to like their jobs

The staff here at Hovley have always been very patient with me. I’m a frequent customer, at least 4x a week & they are quite helpful with any questions I may have! The lines can get long but they’re all very efficient so they move along quickly. Thanks guys!

Very friendly service by a knowledgeable postal clerk. I will choose this post office every time when I am in the neighborhood.

I needed to mail 18511 envelope. The self-service machine only took cards would not accept cash and when I went inside to mail it at the counter I asked the clerk if she could put a small piece of tape along the back just to reinforce it because the self-sealing envelope wasn't sealed very well and she said they don't have tape. If that's true that's really poor customer service because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ever asked for an envelope to have a piece of tape to make sure it's sealed. I waited in line long enough I think she could have made an effort and found a small piece of tape. She was kind of rude about it too, like I was asking for a million dollars. If that is in fact a policy that the post office will not give you are 1 inch piece of tape maybe management could review that and think about the customer they're trying or supposedly trying to serve

Lost every piece of mail I dropped off the other day at the outside drop box. Absolutely ridiculous.
I have video evidence of me dropping them off. Usps is no help. Out over $400 for product.

I’m very disappointed with the service I received from USPS at Desert Fountains Apartments in Palm Desert. I had ordered Easter gifts for my four kids from Shein. Since USPS doesn’t deliver directly to our doors here, the postal worker left a key to the parcel locker on 4/22/25. However, the key didn’t work, and I couldn’t retrieve my package. I left several notes both inside and outside my mailbox explaining the issue and asking for help. Despite this, the mail carrier continued delivering regular mail and completely ignored my notes. I visited the local post office, and staff told me they would notify the carrier and have the package rerouted to the post office for pickup. That never happened. I went back a second time and was told the same thing again, no results. On my third visit, I was told the package had been returned to the sender. This was frustrating because the package came from China, and the return created delays and additional complications. It took two weeks to get a refund, and due to price increases, I wasn’t able to reorder the gifts. My children ended up without their Easter presents. A supervisor eventually told me this is a known issue due to broken parcel lockers at my complex and that the property management is aware. While I understand this isn’t entirely USPS’s fault, I believe the situation could have been handled far better. USPS could have acknowledged my notes, flagged the undelivered package, and made a reasonable decision like holding it at the post office or delivering it to the leasing office. Basic communication and problem-solving could’ve made all the difference. Instead, I was met with a lack of urgency, no follow-up, and a complete disregard for a customer trying to do everything right. This experience was frustrating and disappointing. USPS needs to take accountability in these situations and develop a better system for apartment residents, especially when delivery issues are known and ongoing.

I enjoy the staff at the hovley post office never had any problems matter of fact I've actually had some of the staff help me if a box is too heavy and and I need help with it they're always there to help answer my questions when I need to track a package then they've got no problem helping me figure out where it went so I like this when a whole lot better than I do the one on Portola

This review is of the Passport function at this Post Office, not the other services.
Over all, I was very pleased with the service provided here. Understand that this is really a review of the woman who handles the application process, not the process itself or the general function of the location. I will address those, but that is not what affects the score.
Maribel is the person who assitted us at the counter. The office has a dedicated window for passports and there is an online service that lets you make an appointment. You do need to have an appointment, although if there is no one with an appointment you can walk in. She is extremely detail oriented with the goal of getting your application approved. She doesn't make the rules, she just understands the process.
The form you bring in is on line, and you need to have it completed. You also need to READ THE RULES and bring all the identification documents and copies with you. If you do not, you will have to start over again. There are no corrections allowed on the form. Maribel goes over your application and documents to determine any issues. If all is in order she finishes your application and off you go, to wait for your passport to come by mail.
If all is not in order, she will explain what is wrong, how to correct it and even make an appointment for you to come back. She is helpful, pleasant and efficient. A good process.
If you are like us, you will probably make two trips because the form is complicated. Things like the exact name on your license needs to match your name on the application, the color of your eyes on your license needs to be the same as on your application, all need to match. Relax, if there is an issue you just need to correct it, and that means another trip.
All in all, it is a easy as it can be.
It would be nice to have a more private location than the end of the counter. You have to walk past all the people waiting for general post help to get to the passport line and the people you pass do not know why you are line skipping. Oh well.
There is adequate parking at the location. Making a left turn into the facility from Hovley Lane is a little tricky, if you miss the turn lane the turn at the corner does not get you in because there is no access from that street, but just go around the long and busy block and try again.

Lack of staff makes lines long . The center section of our mailboxes theat were replaced last year due to theft were broken into again even though we were told they were more secure. We are waiting for new keys and it has been over a month. I have to stand in the line to get my mail and the other day they were taking people in line with pa Kahrs’s over people waiting. To pickup the mail. Why does it take so long to get a key? The postman should be delivering our mail to our homes.
