This "home away from home" is open 365 days a year for the loved ones of critically ill and injured hospitalized patients. It also serves the needs of cancer patients receiving therapy and provides accommodations for parents of newborn babies who are critically ill staying in the NICU, as well as military families from our nearby Marine base, etc.. Located next to Desert Regional Hospital, services are provided at low to no cost and no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Guests are provided with a private casita, access to an open pantry and kitchen/dining area, free laundry room, TV lounge, WIFI, and Chapel.

When my son was born he was transferred to desert regional neonatal intensive care center and he ended up having to stay a week. We were so worried about where we were going to stay and sleep or what we could afford but thank you for the Hanson house! The Hanson allowed us to be there for our baby every second of the day and gave us a place to rest and feel safe and be close to our baby. Such a beautiful, peaceful and caring stay we had.

When my husband was in the trauma unit, I stayed at the Hanson House for 10 days. They were very kind and accommodating. It was my home away from home.
