They recently redid their showroom. Still fun people, with fun products from art to cloissone pins to socks. Shag's recent art has more hidden social commentary thrown in. Shag, we need you!

Super fun and PURE PALM SPRINGS MODERNISM. I love this artist and the colorful display of people having fun and a vibrant palette that puts you into a good mood instantly. Prints are for sale and I can’t decide which one I want.

First things first: The staff are stellar and fascinating folks and ultra-hip artistic types in their own right. But the store! Visiting here is like walking into a scene in a life-size Shag coffee table book, hoping you're well-dressed enough. (You're not, but have no fear; they also sell Shag CLOTHES here! Shirts! Socks! I'll take ten pair, thanks.) The mind reels, and the shopping bags fill. Don't fight it; you know you want those beach towels and coasters, and your friends *need* those vinyl albums and all the jewelry. Did you leave anything behind? No problem; you can pick it up next February when you return, drawn like the swallows to Capistrano.

As a long term fan of Shag's artwork, no trip to Palm Springs is complete without a visit to the Shag store. Filled with framed prints, clothes, and nick knacks (even Christmas cards), there's something to interest everyone. Staff are polite, but not pushy, and happy to answer questions or leave you be to browse. One of the highlights of my trip.

Love the art… despise the service. We are on a family trip from Houston, staying in Indio; about 40 minutes away from the Shag store. We drove out here on our last day to get some art for our home and trinkets for friends back in houston. First thing out of the bat, I greet them and ask for a restroom for my 3 year old. Denied. We were sent across the street, where there is no “public” restroom. Sorry the pretentious staff sent us down the road while my child peed himself. Thanks, we will get our gifts elsewhere.
