I like this store a lot it's a lot more cozy and accommodating. The manager and employees are so friendly and nice even though they are confronted every day by a lot of homeless and in a crime ridden area. The other Hope of the Valley in Lancaster on the other hand, is too overwhelming, there is just way too much merchandise. I don't understand why the other store is always empty-ish next to that one. and I do dislike the manager. She is rude, uninviting and never has a smile on her face. I think it's important that managers present themselves as kind and professional, she is not and so I don't make donations there. The store is always so filthy as well. It's so overstocked you can't make a choice so I prefer Palmdale or Santa Clarita even though Santa Clarita is also filthy

I love shopping here, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the fact that they help the needy is a plus. I find great items at fair prices and overall I found some really nice quality stuff. Whenever I've gone shopping I was able to try on the clothes and the girls helped me and even suggested things I had a great overall experience I will definitely recommend this store and will be coming back in the future.

The manager at this location is a very nice woman! I admire her dedication and hard work she does for this company. However her employees at times are rude and extremely unprofessional at times. There are moments when they tend to act worse when they know the fact that the manager isn't currently there. Thus being said I'm am mainly adding two stars due to the continuous poor customer service from the staff not the manager. If I could rate the manager alone she should deserve all five starts for herself. Bless her heart! I don't know how she has the patience to deal with her own staff. She's such a sweet lady.

For the fact that I was in the store for about 15 minutes then they say I need to put my backpack behind the counter. So I decided NO and leave the store. So as I'm outside, I see two people enter with a baby Cart that looks suspicious as HELL, and not a bother of any kind,as well as other people with their backpacks on, so two thumbs down. This thrift store SuuuuUCKS

Can you believe this..they would rather waste time, money, and gas then to accept the stuff you are donating. Apparently they don't like help after 3 pm.

Had some items to donate!! If you have items to donate go to the back! They have a garage where they accept items. I dropped off the donation, asked for a receipt and left! Pretty easy process. Did not go inside and look around! Rating 4/5 because the drop off area was not labeled / visible!

Not the best thrift store out there. They do have decent prices. I bought several DVD's and my mistake for checking but one had both discs missing. Another one freezes in the middle of the movie. From now on I will only buy sealed ones. The staff is very friendly.

I almost didn't stop here because of the reviews. There's nothing wrong with this thrift store. It's just like any other thrift. Just stop in. You'll never know what you'll find.

I never write reviews nor complain about anything but Today really got to me. I went in & bought several items including more than 5 lamps which are pretty heavy. As I was ready to head out I was told I could not take the cart outside for whatever reason (Which is very Inconsiderate to the consumer) especially if there's plenty of heavy items. The LEAST the employees could have done was help me carry everything to my car. The very LEAST... These people are VERY RUDE & I don't think I will shop here again. Not with bad service like the experience I had today

I recently just went into a goodwill industry store in Palmdale california, a purchase just afew things, while paying for it i just happen to ask, do you honor veterns discounts ? their response to me yes and no only on certain days, not every day, i reply why is that ? thats just the way it is here, i also notice in the store and other stores that they alway ask for a $1.00 donation on every purchase each and every day but will not offer a verterans discount, almost sound to me just alittle offensive as a veteran who service our nation and protect all of us, but the end result aleast at the goodwill industies, your not appreciated that much only a a certain day of the week, but dont forget to giive your dollar donation first, anytime of the day on every purchase that you do. other then that folks, enjoy your shoping and just something to think about to all your vets, maybe its, i expect to much maybe its me im currently handycap, a old vet now, and just taking space up, i guess

I had hoped to make Hope of the Valley my charity of choice. I'm a Big Jeopardy fan. I had a crib, a wall unit and a bicycle (oiled and inflated) to donate. As I approached the loading dock with the crib I explained to the worker that I had a crib, etc to donate. Before I could show her the crib, she declared that they wouldn't be able to accept it. I proceeded to show her that it was complete and usable. She then told me that it was old and hard to sell (??!!). I probably reacted badly as I was shocked to find that only showroom pieces were acceptable. My good intentions flew out the window and I left them empty handed. I have one unused good deed. Any ideas out there?
