I was a loyal customer of Banana Republic but this store trashed my confidence in the brand. I spent about an hour trying on different clothes.I went to check out - but my Apple card was declined. That was weird, I thought, since I made a purchase just beforehand with it. It was declined three times. The store told me to get on the phone to my bank (of course they wouldn’t assume it was their system being broken). Sure enough, nothing on Apple’s end at all.I was made to feel embarrassed. The person “helping” would not even consider that their system was broken. After spending time talking with Apple who confirmed that my card was fine, I went back to the store to get a manager. She said they’d had an issue all day with AppleCard and asked me to use a different card. Totally inconvenient. It’s the Banana Republic system that’s broken, and I have to convenience them by using a different card? No, I don’t want to use a different card for good reasons! I then asked if they could just use the card number, but they said they would not do that. So their system is broken and they won’t make an effort to make things right. Finally, sense prevailed and the manager restarted a different terminal. We tried again. It worked. My card was approved. This is why I’m giving two stars, not one.But next time, Banana Republic: don’t embarrass your customers, don’t assume your system is working when it’s not, and maybe work with you customer when your system is b0rked (ie for goodness sake, take a credit card number!)

Don't work here! Absolutely toxic management. Managers told everyone they'd be fire if they shared their paychecks or told others how much they were getting pay. All of this, pretty illegal BTW. Not worth it! Additionally, management's favorites got to take off time whenever or call out the day of. But if you ask for time off plenty in advanced, they'd threaten you'd be fired.

Came in to look for a cardigan. Nice sales rep approached and asked if we needed help. I said yes... 5min later he returns with a sweater. It turns out he did not know what a cardigan is (yes, English was his native language). That's no problem though because I found one. Also found a heavy jacket that I liked, but the cashier did not take off the security tag and we set off the alarm trying to exit.I don't think the employees get any training here :D

Quality of product typically is good.Customer service at Stanford not so much. I order a couple pairs of pants and shirts off the app to find an odd cut on one shirt. Reminded me of a football jersey shirt and pants were way baggy. I came to return and the guy at the register said this was from a factory store and I had to drive to the s*** store pretty much. By the way 40 minutes away. I then asked if I could pay my credit card and he said not here. I asked where do you pay your bill and he didn't even know. Mumbled something about entering your email address on website. There should be a disclaimer when shopping the thrift section that the cx knows right up front that it's gonna be crap and you have to drive far to return. Stanford banana republic on the s*** list. Los Gatos one is great.Update.... Went to factory store and it turns out one of my returns actually was from the regular store so now I get to go back. Can't wait

Thanks so much to the cashier at this location who helped me yesterday afternoon. I noticed a loose thread on the sweater I was going to buy. I mentioned that I didn't think it was my fault(it caught on my earring when I was taking it off) but expected her to say either nothing or say that it probably was. Instead, she didn't even address it but offered to get me a new one. All done in a matter of moments. Wow! She's got it down. Great training or very smart sales associate. Customer for life now.

This is a very nice location. Options were different than others in the mall-but still very nice.

Had a really good experience. One of the floor sales people helped me figure out a few outfits and shoes. I don't think it was in her job description to help style stupid middle age men to figure things out, but I am really glad she did!

Had been a go to place for my formal wear. There was a point when I had all the solid and checks shirts they had :)

Sales people on the floor were just horrible. No one was willing to help me or my wife find the size we were looking for. Sad to see a reputed brand lose its potential appeal just because of some entitled kids they hired for in-store sales. They wouldn't care if the customer screamed for help! Much better experience with J crew that was just a couple of shops down the line. Less premium brand but far better customer service.

Love Banana Republic. Everyone is very helpful. Karla, especially, is great. She has helped us/my wife in the past and always goes the extra mile. Even when it gets crowded, she doesn't hurry you out and makes sure you are taken care of. This is what keeps us coming back to Banana Republic.

Pretty crappy store. Don't get me wrong, Banana republic is great, just the store associate isn't. Placed an online order for curbside pick up contactless pick up. Went home to realize the store didn't take out the magnetic security tag which is still okay. On calling the store, the associate lady (not going to name her) acted like it was no big deal. First off no apologies were made for making me drive all the way there just to get the tags removed. Secondly she spoke in a terse tone like as if it was my fault for forgetting to take off the tags. I'll probably be going to another store for my BR shopping in the future.
