Hi, I've been considering becoming a new member since I have been with 2 different banks. what are the benefits? between banks and credit unions? especially with you guys.

So we came in at 1:45 pm on a Saturday afternoon to open a new account (bank closes at 2 pm). Bank teller was generally polite but informed us we would have to come back another time since it was so close to closing. We told her that we both work during the week so that would be hard. She offered to do some of the application process by telephone during the week but we would still have to come in. Alternatively, if we started online she said it could take awhile to get it finished since we would be "in a cue". Finally, brief discussion about their CD-like products seemed to suggest that talking to their investment specialist could significantly increase the percentage over what was advertised in a big poster next to the tellers. Honestly, not a good first impression.

I have banked with Provident Credit Union since 2011, and I continue to bank with them while living on the East Coast. I have chosen to remain with Provident, for a number of reasons, one of them is the great customer service they consistently provide. Recently, I had a difficult time finding a bank or credit union on the East Coast that could provide me a cashiers check, because I did not have an account with a particular bank or credit union. Brianne Nolasco helped locate a credit union near me who could assist. Her willingness to assist me on the East Coast from Provident Credit Union's location in Palo Alto is an example of the great customer service they provide, and why I will continue to remain a member. Thank You Brianne!

Their ATM machine retained my B of A debit card last night. When I called them today to ask why, they told me their ATM was malfunctioning last night but unfortunately they cannot return my card to me because it was from another bank. Even though I’ve been a member with them for about 20 years. So, I had to call Bank of America to have my card replaced and now I need to update my information with sll of the merchants/accounts that I use that card with, all because their machine malfunctioned. No apology from them either.

From the time I met Ashley Niba (Los Gatos branch), who was so gracious and professional in handling my needs, I knew right away I was in the right place. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Takes days, sometimes weeks to get a response on anything. My first red flag was in 2016 when they dinged my credit score by falsely reporting a late payment due to a glitch in their system they said was caused by swapping to a new payment system. That took months to resolve, but I stayed with them because I wanted to support a small local credit union after hearing how evil big banks were. Since then, they seem to constantly have weird technical glitches, including ones that caused overdraft fees. They would only reverse these fees caused by their technical errors after countless calls and wasted time. I am so glad I switched to Ally Bank where I can get help 24/7 or a response back to an online inquiry within a day. Peter Nieves shame on you for also lying about our communications when I have email proof.

I have change my account for wells Fargo because this agent on provident they are more helpful but i have so disappointed because i spent in the wait area more den 40 minutes an the agent just looking us with no costumers helping I don't think is professional.

We applied for an auto loan through Provident Credit Union Palo Alto Office and Ashley Niba provided excellent service. She went above and beyond and helped us increase the loan amount and she was timely and very responsive in dealing with the complex loan scenario. We have been customers of the credit union for many years and Ashley made sure that the loan went through successfully and dealt with each hurdle gracefully. While Ashley was out for one day her colleague Brianne Nolasco stepped in and picked up the ball smoothly and completed the tasks for that day. Thank you very much Ashley and Brianne - you have set an example of exemplary customer service and Provident is lucky to have both of you on their team.
