I brought in a Louis Vuitton pouch with 2 broken zippers, the main zipper at top and a zipper on an external front pocket. I gave them the two original LV gold zipper pulls to place on the repaired zippers. They replaced the gold zippers with brown zippers and did not place the LV zipper pulls, which wouldn't have matched the brown cheap looking zippers anyway. I had also dropped off a Chanel wallet with a missing zipper pull on the outside, I had bought a gold Chanel charm for them to place as the zipper pull. They gave it back to me with a gold rectangular zipper pull on it. Very, very disappointed. I paid $325 (I think they quoted $250 when I brought the items in) and did not get quality work or the work I asked for. Never again.

Stay away from this unethical and extremely rude people excluding the young woman at the reception) I am relatively new to the are and my office is very close to this store I thought it'd be convenient leave my high heels there to get their heel repaired (minor nothing big) it was late and I should have looked at the slip he gave me. Steve had the audacity to charge $70 for putting some rubber plastic on the tip of the heel! he said he added a small leather piece (at the front of the shoe too). when I said the same service costs about $15-18 in Berkeley he said it's expensive to live in Palo Alto houses are 3 million! i called couple shoe repair shops afterwards in Palo Alto and they quoted 1/4th of what he had me paid. I am still furious. do not give business to this perso.

I was blown away by how awesome these guys are! I came in for a zipper fix on a jacket and they were so kind, efficient, and crazy quick. Plus the jacket was as good as new afterward and exactly what I needed; the shop is also very lovely and easily accessible. I will bring my shoes for repair here and only here from now on (plus other knickknacks like the zipper hopefully), and HIGHLY recommend that you do the same!

I just got a new job on California Ave and my shoe broke. I found The Cobblery across the street and they fixed my shoe, had new shoes, polished my other pair and replaced the heel. They are amazing! I grew up in Los Altos and they had a similar shop but they closed. I am a Dansko person 100% and this is my new favorite store. Thanks! My shoes looks great!

The guy there thinks he is stitching hold threads to the stuff he repaid. I took a pair of shoes to stitch together, he quoted 60$ each shoe.. I can buy a new pair and have money left for a couple of beers.. a bets.. all he had to do was replace a rivet.. he charged more that the belt was worth..... his father had a store in Los Altos.. those people were very reasonable. And they were in Los Altos.. they could charge.. they DIDNOT. Unfortunately he closed the shop.. don't bother with this opportunist cobbler..not worth it

The work was good but beware! Make sure you remember the price they quote you up front because you don't get a receipt (at least I didn't get one) just a tag without a price. When I picked up my item and asked how much I owe, the guy behind the counter said $30 and in turn I said "I thought it was $25". He looked at the ticket and said, "$25 you're right". He tried to pocket $5. I normally would give people the benefit of the doubt but this guy was so obvious. This isn't about the money just the principle!

Great shop. Rich is super kind and you can tell he really knows his craft. I brought in a pair of Hermes sneakers with a stain in the fabric and they worked their magic to get it out. I'm excited to bring in more shoes and see them refreshed. They do everything here; whether it's leather, canvas or soft fabric. Everyone has shoes and i recommend you bring yours here.

They've been there for many years for a reason! Rarely do I need specialty shoe or garment repair, but The Cobblery is my go-to place when I do. One of my motorcycle boot's stitching had come unraveled and I really didn't want to start shopping for a new pair, since these have broken in perfectly and the soles were still at 50%+. Good motorcycle boots aren't cheap either. I figured that this would be a pretty easy fix for the Cobblery and I was right. I dropped off on a Tuesday and picked up on that Friday. The repairs were done perfectly and you can't even tell they were ever damaged. And the bill was only $15! The staff are very professional, friendly and they do great work. Last time I was there they replaced a zipper on a favorite motorcycle jacket for me. That was many years ago and I still wear that jacket today, and the zipper works flawlessly. Nice to have a reliable go-to cobbler and garment repair nearby. There are still things that can't be fixed by technology, and The Cobblery is proof.

Brought my leather jacket in for some shining and refreshment. They wanted me to pay over $200 up front. I heard the quality of their work is great, so I reluctantly agreed. When I picked up the jacket, I was surprised to see no difference in appearance after the leather had been refreshed, and more importantly, there were several straps and sentimental tags missing! I had specifically asked them to be careful with these parts. They claimed they had no idea what happened and weren't aware of this, even though it was the same lady who took my jacket in the first place! Don't take anything you care about to this business. You might as well just burn it.

I did not have a great experience with this shop. I will relate what happened and you can make up your own mind as to whether or not you will trust them with your footwear. I have a pair of shell cordovan Alden boots and the tongue in one of the boots would slide to the side while wearing. I brought them into the shop, and the cobbler suggested that they could put a couple of stitches through the tongue and the upper to hold it in place. He assured me that they would pass the needle through existing holes in the upper so that it wouldn't even be visible. I tried the shoes on and he carefully measured where the tongue should sit, which is important since I lace the boots up pretty tight. I felt great about it.I came back the next day, at the agreed upon time. The shoes weren't quite ready, so they did the repair while I waited. A different cobbler in the shop did the work. You can see in the photos what they actually did. They used a different color thread, punched all new holes, and marred the upper with the foot of the sewing machine. The tongue was also way off center relative to what we agreed. They did both boots for me, and on the right boot, the tongue wasn't even stretched out so that it would lie flat. They didn't even bother to trim the thread before handing the boots back to me!In response to the damage to the upper, the cobbler complained that if he didn't use the machine, it would take too long, and that Alden uses a machine too. Well their machine doesn't mar the upper! He also claimed that he did reuse the holes because the new holes that he punched were close to the existing ones. He offered to redo the job, but there was no way I was going to let them do more work on my boots. I asked him to remove the stitching and give me the boots back, which he did. The cobbler was somewhat indignant about how upset I was about the damage. When I announced my intention to leave a negative review, he gave me my money back. My view is that the shop did not do at all what they promised and damaged a $900 pair of boots. The whole thing was very unprofessional. I certainly will not be trusting them to work on anything valuable in the future.
